I will admit to being a little nostalgic about this vehicle since my parents have had it since i was a toddler. It served us very well weather comutes to hockey arenas or annual road trips from Calgary to Regina. This was a very easy car to drive which made it a great car to learn on, namely do to it's good steering and braking and part-time 4WD. One downside though was its incredibly weak 4.0L V6 engine producing only 160 BHP, this meant it had rather sluggish acceleration and sometimes had issues in a head wind on the highway. Fuel Economy was fairly good. It was also a tough vehicle, we got hit a few times over the years on only one rear-ending did anymore than minor damage. Sadly we had to get rid of it a few years ago because the fan belt snapped while i was driving it and cut the power steering lines and a few other cables, the cost to repair it was to high compared to what it was worth, now i'm driving a '97 F-150 instead.

I love it from the day I got it I like it better than the brand new trucks I have had I did like my ford bronko years ago and the blue forerunner I had,,it had blind spots it was so long and hard to park I love my ford explorer yes I do yes i do I love it I love it I love it

Comfortable, reliable SUV. Good towing capacity and flawless 4wd. No concerns. Really like the interior comfort and the rear heater is a plus. Would definitely buy another Explorer.
