The Bronco Sport is part of Ford’s two-pronged approach to reviving one of its most revered nameplates and boosting its presence in the off-road segment. In one fell swoop, the Bronco Sport became Ford’s smallest off-road-ready model, with credentials to challenge the industry’s most rugged compact SUVs. It’s also worth noting that the Bronco Sport enhances Ford’s ability to compete for SUV buyers with the off-road experts at Jeep.
Issue:
On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Ford dealer during recall 24S24 (Transport Canada recall no. 2024-224) may not have been done correctly. As a result, a second repair is required.
On these affected vehicles, the powertrain control module (PCM) and body control module (BCM) may not detect a change in the charge level of the 12 V battery. As a result, the engine could stall. This could also cause the engine not to restart after a start-stop event and the hazard lights may not work.
Safety Risk:
A sudden loss of power to the wheels or a vehicle that doesn't restart after a start-stop event could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, hazard lamps that don't work could make the vehicle less visible and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the PCM and BCM software.
Issue:
On certain vehicles, the windshield wiper motor may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the motor could fail and cause the windshield wipers not to work.
Safety Risk:
Windshield wipers that don't work could reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the windshield wiper motor.
Issue:
On a small number of vehicles, one or more tires may not have been manufactured correctly. As a result, the tire(s) may not have the same stiffness. This could cause a change in vehicle stability.
Safety Risk:
A change in vehicle stability could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the tire(s).
Issue:
On certain vehicles, a fuel injector may crack. If this happens, fuel could leak into the engine compartment.
Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with a 1.5 L EcoBoost engine. This recall is an expansion of Transport Canada recall number 2022-658.
Safety Risk:
A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the engine control software to detect fuel injector leaks. The dealer will also install a drain tube. Ford will also provide an extended warranty of 15 years/240 000 km to replace cracked injectors.

Issue:
On one vehicle, the bracket for the fuel pump control module (FPCM) may not be properly secured to the fuel tank assembly. As a result, the electrical connector to the FPCM could loosen and detach. If this happens, the engine could stall and you may not be able to restart it.
Safety Risk:
A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
The affected vehicle has not been sold to a retail owner. Ford will instruct the dealer to replace the fuel tank before the vehicle is sold.
Issue:
Under certain conditions, the parking lamps could flicker. As a result, the parking lights could be difficult to see. Canadian regulations require the parking lamps to stay on constantly when the headlights are turned on.

Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace and/or reprogram the LED driver module (LDM).
Issue:
On certain vehicles equipped with a 1.5 L Ecoboost engine, the engine oil separator could leak. If this happens, oil could leak onto hot engine parts.
Safety Risk:
Oil that leaks onto hot engine parts could cause a fire.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the engine oil separator for damage and leaks. The oil separator and seals will be replaced, if necessary.
Issue:
Certain vehicles may not meet the minimum stopping requirements of Canadian regulations. In particular, the vehicle may have an extended stopping distance if there is a loss of power brake assist.
Note: This recall does not effect vehicles with an electronic brake booster (EBB).

Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the date code of the moonroof glass. It will be replaced, if necessary.
Issue:
On certain vehicles, the fuel delivery module could leak inside the fuel tank. If this happens, low fuel pressure could cause the engine not to start, or it could stall while driving.
Safety Risk:
A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the fuel delivery module.
