Model Overview
Introduced in 2022, the compact Ford Maverick is part of a trend toward “right-sizing” the pickup segment after years of oversized truck designs. The unibody Maverick can’t handle huge payload and towing jobs, but it’s capable enough to handle most of the tasks you can throw at it thanks to a well-designed cargo bed. On certain trucks, the fuel tank may have been damaged when the truck was built. As a result, the tank may have holes and could leak fuel.
Safety Risk:
A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire.
Corrective Actions:
Ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect the fuel tank. If the fuel tank is damaged, it will be replaced.
