2024 Nissan Z Nismo First Drive: Anything But a Parts-Bin Special

Nismo stands for something – something special. A combination of the words Nissan and motorsports, it sits near the top of the pyramid of automotive excellence. Founded in 1984, Nissan’s performance unit quietly and consistently churned out outstanding products, none of which made it to this part of the world. It wasn’t until the early part of the 21st century that we got our first official glimpse at what the good folks at Nismo were capable of. Flash forward to today and there’s a new version that’s ready to take the nearly extinguished Nismo torch and attempt to ignite it anew. And the 2024 Nissan Z Nismo looks like it (mostly) has what it needs to accomplish exactly that. AutoTrader.ca Road Test Editor Dan Ilika gives his first impressions of Nissan's track-focused version of its iconic sports car.
