Jeep Liberty 2001Change

We had purchased our Liberty with me thinking it was going to be more for the wife than me. It was a nice looking vehicle but, just didn't look very rugged for a Jeep. I was totally wrong. This is one of the best Jeeps I have ever owned and I have been driving Jeeps for over 20 years now. The Liberty actually felt like a full size truck. Being a short vehicle, they are a little skittish in the snow when in 2 wheel drive, but they go anywhere in 4x4. We have a Grand Cherokee as well and it's crap compared to the Liberty. The fuel mileage is horrible of course, but hey, it a 4x4. The V6 engine has a lot of power and seems to be a perfect match with the weight of the Liberty. I'm not a big fan off the rear mounted tire and never have been with any Jeep, however, without it on, the Jeep looks kind of silly. The only problems we have had with the Liberty are with the rear hatch and door, but, you find a problem with every vehicle sooner or later. Our Liberty is stock but if it has the clearance to go somewhere, it will get there. I wish Jeep hadn't changed the liberties so much, these old ones are fantastic.
