For 2010, the Mazda CX-7 is available with a new engine option, a naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with five-speed automatic in the front-wheel drive version. It goes into the GX, a new base trim line; the GS is now all-wheel drive only.

New materials, weld bonds and body reinforcements also contribute to lower noise, vibration and harshness, and a reduction in wind noise. Outside, the CX-7 receives a revised lower front grille, rear fascia and fog lamp bezels, while the GT receives specific chrome-trimmed mouldings on the grille, windows and lower door garnishes. Inside, there are new seat upholstery materials, front and rear door armrests with softer pads, chrome-plated air conditioner vent garnishes, piano black or metallic centre panel trim, new gauge design, and new steering wheel with integrated controls for audio, Bluetooth and cruise control.

A new Luxury Package, available on the GX and GS, adds power sunroof, leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, eight-way driver and four-way passenger heated power seats, Bluetooth connectivity, and automatic climate control.

The CX-7 comes with a choice of two engines: the new naturally-aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder with five-speed automatic transmission in the GX, and a turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder with six-speed automatic transmission in the GS and GT. Both have manual shift mode. The GX is front-wheel drive only, while the GS and GT are strictly all-wheel drive. The all-wheel system uses active torque split and can deliver up to 50/50 power distribution when necessary.

Features on the GX include 17-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, tire pressure monitoring system, heated mirrors, rear privacy glass, rain-sensing wipers, intermittent rear wiper, automatic headlights, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel with audio controls, trip computer with fuel consumption gauge, keyless entry, cloth seats, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, floor mats, and CD/MP3 stereo with auxiliary input.

The GS adds 18-inch alloy wheels and dual exhaust outlets.

The GT adds 19-inch alloy wheels, automatic climate control, blind spot monitoring system, heated mirrors with integrated turn signals, xenon headlamps with manual levelling, fog lights, cargo cover, electroluminescent gauges, intelligent key system, rearview camera, auto-dimming mirror, garage door opener, power sunroof, heated leather seats with eight-way driver and four-way passenger power adjustment, driver's side memory, leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, six-CD/MP3 stereo, and Sirius satellite radio.
