Owner Reviews

Artur7486 Not happy with purchase after few years. February 19, 2018 JK WRANGLER UNLIMITED Sahara
Overall Score
Problems and problems from day 1. Was delivered to me new with two issues. Popping front right speaker and scratching sound coming from ventilation. Within few years: wire connection issues with one headlight. Engine sensors failed twice. Jeep would randomly stall. Very deadly on intersections. Heat shield in the back kept falling off even after fixes because bolts were rusting off. Clonking sound coming from the rear. Spend thousands and problem was not resolved. Door seal failed resulting in wind noise. After three years rust on inner doors, and exterior door hinges plus paint bubbling. Rust spots on body. Navigation anti--glare coating peeling. Rear windshield washer pump cracked resulting in washer being sprayed inside. Frame on the upper right side creaking after 4 years. I sold it 5 years from new before the rust made it hard to sell. I spent close to 5k in repairs, not maintenance. Don't fall in love with the idea of freedom because most people with not take a new 40k off-roading!

On certain vehicles, the power steering return line may wear against the automatic transmission oil cooler line, causing a transmission fluid leak. This would result in a loss of transmission fluid, potentially causing damage to the transmission and resulting in a loss of motive power. This could increase the risk of a crash causing personal injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will either add a protective sleeve or replace the transmission line.

On certain vehicles equipped with power heated mirrors, an electrical connector within the door may corrode, potentially resulting in an electrical short. This could result in a burning odour, smoke, or fire, increasing the risk of injury and/or damage to property. Correction: Dealers will modify electrical wiring and install a water shield.

On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, could eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger frontal airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. As a result, if the vehicle were involved in a collision that warrants airbag deployment, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants, and the airbag assembly could be damaged, preventing proper function. These issues could increase the risk of injury. Correction: Dealers will replace the airbag inflator. Note: Canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. The recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk, and is expected to replace airbag inflators before their function would be affected.
