History/Overview

The latest member of Chevrolet’s electric vehicle family is the new-for-2022 Bolt EUV, which builds on the existing Bolt EV hatchback while adding SUV-like styling cues.

Available Trims

Chevrolet offers the Bolt EUV in LT and Premier trim levels. Common to both are a battery/electric motor combo that puts 200 hp and 266 lb-ft of torque to the EUV’s front wheels.

Standard Features

On the outside, the Bolt EUV wears 17-inch aluminum wheels, automatic on/off LED headlights, LED taillights, and passive keyless entry.

Inside, there’s a six-speaker stereo, a power driver’s seat, ambient dashboard lighting, automatic A/C, a heated/leather-trimmed steering wheel, USB charging ports, a 10.2-inch infotainment display, heated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, and wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity.

The EUV’s standard safety package comprises forward collision detection with pedestrian detection and automatic braking, blind spot monitoring, lane change alert, rear park assist, a following distance indicator, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, and automatic high beams.

Premier trim adds a different 17-inch wheel design, chrome and gloss black exterior trim, rain-sensing wipers, adaptive cruise control, ambient door lighting, surround-vision cameras, heated rear seats, a camera-based rearview mirror, and leather seating.

Key Options

A True North package for LT models adds leather seating, ventilated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a rear centre armrest, and trim-specific wheels.

Premier trim offers a Sun and Sound pack that bundles navigation, a seven-speaker stereo, and a panoramic sunroof.

You can also option Premier with GM’s SuperCruise hands-free driver assist system for highway driving.

Fuel Economy

Chevrolet’s fuel consumption ratings for the Bolt EUV are 1.9/2.3 Le/100 km (city/highway).

Competition

With the Bolt EUV, Chevrolet goes up against battery electric utility vehicles like the Hyundai Kona EV, Kia Niro EV, the VW ID.4, and the forthcoming Hyundai Ioniq 5.
