2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric Coupe Combines 911-Inspired Roofline with Over 1,100 HP
For years, Porsche has struggled to incorporate the 911’s iconic look into its other vehicles. The original Cayenne had a Frankensteinien misproportion to it and the first Panamera looked like its sports car midway through an awkward pubescent phase. With the Cayenne Electric Coupe, however, the brand’s designer may have cracked it.
While the purists will complain that SUVs can’t be coupes, it’s hard to deny two things after getting our first look at the 2026 Cayenne Electric Coupe: First, the roofline is clearly 911-esque and, second, it looks pretty good.
Not only is the new design sleek, it’s also slick — through the air, that is. In addition to arcing elegantly, the new Cayenne Electric Coupe’s roof is 24 mm (a little less than an inch) lower than the Cayenne Electric SUV. Together with active aerodynamics, that means a coefficient of drag of just 0.23, as compared to the standard model’s cd of 0.25.
It is not yet clear what that will mean for the new model’s range and whether the Coupe will be able to go farther than the SUV. However, like the boxier model, the Cayenne Electric Coupe will get an 800-volt powertrain and a Tesla-style North American Charging System (NACS) port. As a result, its 113 kWh battery pack can be charged at a rate of up to 400 kW. In ideal circumstances, the benchmark charge from 10-80 per cent can be done in just 16 minutes.
The Cayenne Electric Coupe will initially be offered with the same three powertrains as the SUV. That means a base model that makes an impressive 435 hp and 616 lb-ft of torque allowing it to reach 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and to race on to a top speed of 230 km/h. The Cayenne S Coupe Electric gets a wild 657 hp and 797 lb-ft of torque, which helps it along to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and to a top speed of 250 km/h. Finally, the absolutely bonkers Cayenne Turbo Coupe Electric gets up to 1,139 hp and 1,106 lb-ft of torque, rocketing it to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 260 km/h.
Like the Cayenne Electric SUV, the Coupe also gets standard adaptive two-chamber, two-valve air suspension to help it handle all that electric power (and its heft). Rear-axle steering is optional on all models and electro-hydraulic active ride suspension and torque vectoring are options that are only available to buyers who go for the S and the Turbo trims.
Those who want to get the absolute most out of their Cayenne Electric Coupe, can go for the Lightweight Sport Package, which adds a carbon fibre roof and inserts, and adds 22-inch wheels (wrapped in high-performance tires). Together, the changes combine to cut 17.6 kg of weight from the vehicle.
The package also adds Pepita pattern cloth trim to the seats, a Race-Tex headliner, and open-pore carbon fibre trim to the interior. Whether they opt for the Lightweight Sport Package or not, buyers will be able choose between a 2+1 or a two-seat rear passenger area.
Prices for the 2026 Cayenne Electric Coupe start at $134,200. Meanwhile, the S trim will cost $145,500 and the Turbo will cost at least $181,900. Canadian deliveries are expected to start at the end of the summer.
