2027 Nissan Sentra Costs a Little More, Gets Sinister New Range-Topping Trim
The Nissan Sentra is back for the 2027 model year with a modest price bump to start and a new trim to top the lineup: the Sentra SR Premium Midnight Edition adds a touch of darkness to the model’s offerings.
As ever, the S trim opens the range, with a starting price of $25,868, which is $600 more than the same model in 2026. Adding to the irritation is a slightly larger freight and PDI fee — $1,900, as compared to $1,850 — all of which combines into an effective starting price of $27,768.
Despite that modest increase, the Sentra maintains one of the lowest starting price in the segment (and the industry). The opening price is just a few hundred dollars higher than the equivalent Toyota Corolla, while the Honda Civic has a starting price of more than $32,000 once fees and levies have been accounted for.
Although the sedan is mostly unchanged for 2027, it does benefit from some improved transmission tuning. The Sentra’s continuously variable transmission (CVT) will be smoother and will deliver a more linear acceleration profile for the coming model year, changes Nissan says were made in response to customer feedback.
As it did in 2026, the 2027 model gets a standard 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless phone mirroring, intelligent cruise control, and LED head- and taillights. It also provides peace of mind with safety features like automatic emergency braking, blind spot warning and intervention, rear cross traffic alert, and lane departure warning.
The last change is the replacement of the SR Premium trim with the more sinister SR Premium Midnight Edition (pictured above). It gets all of the outgoing model’s equipment, plus black exterior badges, black window trim, and black 18-inch black alloy wheels, plus a Super Black two-tone roof. The package also introduces a Qi2 wireless phone charger for faster, more reliable energy transfer.
The 2027 Nissan Sentra is on sale now at Canadian dealerships.
