2012 Toyota Tundra

by DarlaLamb on 10-28-2017
Toyota should be one of the "Big 3"
The Tundra is an incredibly reliable and driveable truck. The full sized, 4 door cab and full length box is perfect for us. Very intimidating for somebody that is 5' tall. However, it turns out to be the best design out of any vehicle I have driven. Easy adjustments to reach gas and brake without causing excessive pressure and acceleration. Tremendous torque when needed, reliable handling in winter in lots of snow or ice. When on a steep hill the transmission/engine cuts back with a tap of the brake to stop the constant pressure on the brakes.

I am seeing more and more of these trucks around and am not surprised. Excellent suspension for on and off road. Easy on gas considering 5.7 L engine. Getting 21 mpg on average.

I can't say enough about this truck. It belongs to my husband, but I love to drive it. Spacious and smartly designed interior with lots of storage. Head room for somebody 6'4" tall in rear seat, too.

Great Truck
This truck drives like a dream. Hauling capacity is great at 10,000 and the room inside is unbeatable as compared to my Tacoma.

The read window slides down and gives the feel of a convertable.

Excellent value and style
This has been a very reliable vehicle for the past six years. At 240k and going strong would buy another one in a heartbeat. Buy expect to drive this one for another 500k. And it will last that long. Best truck I have ever owned and I've had quite a few.

Solid and Reliable
I follow the maintenance schedule and haven't had any problems with my Tundra whatsoever. After 4 years everything still feels very solid. Some North American trucks have nicer to look at interiors, but you can't beat the Tundra's comfort, functionality, reliability, and overall value.

2011 Toyota Tundra

Trim: Limited 4x4 Double cab

120,000 km and love this vehicle
best vehicle I ever owned period. we have purchased, dodge, 3 fords, chevy, pontiac, gmc, honda and was tired of being in the shop with repairs time after time. The only $$$ I have spent on service were for oil changes and for brake pads at 100k. plenty of power and very tough vehicle. We off road in rough terrain on ATV trails and even factory shocks have held up really well. We also live in northern ontario and after 6 years of driving up here I have zero rust anywhere on the body. Other vehicles we owned started rusting at 3 years.

With other vehicles I owned, all had major issues start at 60k (just after the warranty ran out) which led to expensive repairs for years until we traded in and moved on.

I am not a young guy and have driven many many vehicles of different makes. The overall price paid and value that this vehicle offers is second to none and is a sure bet to last for many more years for my business.

Drove across Canada twice at 50 hours non stop and operated flawlessly even with a load in tow in the mountains. If you have not driven one of these trucks.....hop in take it for a ride....you will be sold like i was. I was not considering one of these vehicles when i bought mine, but a close friend showed me his and took a new one out for a test drive after testing similar trucks from other guys. I was convinced and purchased the next day. Interior is awesome and tons of storage in cabin.

I have heard the comment many times these trucks are hard on gas. Its a myth. if you are normal 4x4 V8 driver, these trucks burn less fuel than some others we have owned or driven, but the tank is a hair smaller so it feels like you go to the pump a bit more often. If you love to hammer the gas pedal this truck will love you back but the gas pump wont.

After 6 years of ownership, still loving this vehicle and I wont be selling it till it runs into the ground. i will be buying another one soon for our business.

2014 Toyota Tundra

Trim: SR5 CrewMax - 5.7 V8 - 4X4
by TallViking on 10-16-2015
The virtual Lexus of full-sized pickup trucks. Designed and built in the USA.
I've owned a multitude of current, full-sized, North American built pickup trucks (F150, F250, Ram, Silverado) and can safely say that the 2014 Tundra SR5 CrewMax 4x4 with the 5.7 V8 is the best of the lot. In real world driving, no other truck has shown a better combination of strength, durability, efficiency, drivability, reliability and all-day comfort that the Tundra has. The SR5+ cloth interior is tastefully stylish and comfortable. I added high quality, aftermarket seat heaters to take the edge off cold winter mornings (the factory seat heaters in the up-level models are very slow to warm). Best to forgo the stiff, unforgiving ride of the TRD package and go with the well-controlled, standard suspension package. Swapping-out the original equipment Bridgestone Dueler highway all-season tires for Michelin LTX A/S Highway All-Season tires has tremendously improved the ride, handling and traction of my truck. While the traditional Big-3 have their virtues, the Tundra best hits the sweet spot - and it also has the highest USA content. Do your research: Ford, GM and Ram qualify as being made-in-America only by the skin of their teeth. Toyota may be a Japanese nameplate, but the Tundra has the highest North American content -- and that's the icing on the cake.

2014 Toyota Tundra

Trim: 1794
by Tundra1794 on 08-21-2015
1794 edition very disappointing
I have 2 Tundra, 1 work truck bought 2013 and 1 the new model 1794 Edition. I would not recommend another Toyota truck to anybody.
I know you dont buy trucks for fuel efficiency however you need to have your own fuel station, taking it easy, no hauling (average 14.2mpg!!, tank range 270miles, pathetic), I have had for just over 1 year, has 58k, leather seats are peeling, (not covered under warranty as I shud have put on leather conditioner, which I did!) Info screen keeps going blank, Toyota cant fix, don't know why this happens, look at me as if I'm lying.
ECP is absolute waste of money, it does nothing except cover your oil changes! ($4,000)
Far better get F150 or Ram diesel, cheaper, better warranty and service, MPG.
Toyota may aswell give up with trucks if they cant stand by them

2007 Toyota Tundra

Trim: 5.7 SR5 Double Cab Off Road Package
by Impressed8781 on 10-06-2014
Very impressed so far.
I was a little apprehensive buying this truck used with high miles. But I checked it out and it has been very well maintained and I just can't fine anything wrong with it. I keep waiting for something to blow up or break, but so far I am really impressed with this vehicle. After a few months it has proven to be a real gem. I have not had to fix or repair a thing since I bought it – nothing but fuel. We will see how it holds out long term considering it has 200,000 Km's on it - I just can't believe how well it runs, like new really. If this thing holds out I am converted and will buy another one later on. Smooth powerful quiet and comfortable. It does like fuel though and that is my only sore point so far, but anything in this class is not going to be significantly any better in the gas department. It tows very nicely and is great on the highway cruising. A Tundra is certainly worth consideration if you are looking for a pick up. Mine also has a 6.5 ft box with a high rise canopy, that is very handy for my camping needs. I am really enjoying this truck.

I still love my 2007 Tundra Limited.
250,000 km's and still going strong! Not a squeak or a rattle. Only regular maintenance required and the truck really still feels like new. The power, handling and overall feel of this vehicle are unmatched in my opinion. I drove GM for years but I'll never go back. I was thinking of trading it in for a new Tundra , but it won't break and it won't wear out! I'd be hard pressed to find another vehicle that even approaches the quality of this one.

Out of the box styling
In my opinion the Toyota Tundra is far more superior than any other Truck. Maybe the other brands should start following suit. The Tundra handles great, plenty of power, very comfortable, interior is well layed out, and reliable in every way, I know in ten years it will be worth something and not a rusty trash can, Chevys Rust Out, Fords have engine problems and Dodge has electrical issues. Toyota took notice and built the Tundra.

awesome truck
I loved this truck. It always started and never stranded me anywhere in the four years that I owned it. It had lots of power and handled great, was a beautiful dark blue and sounded amazing with dual magnaflow exhaust. It had over 250,000 km and ran like it was still new. It never died once until it was written off now Im getting a 2010 crew max and I'm jacked about it.

Comfort & Power
Overall, my experience has been excellent. Fuel economy, however, could be better for city driving but highway driving is quite efficient. This truck drives like a Cadillac, very comfortable and plenty of storage, so it is ideal for long distance trips. This truck can also handle the worst weather conditions and just about any terrain.

They don't come any better
I bought my 2010 Tundra new and put 88,000 K it preformed better then any truck I ever owned before.
It pulls well and the pay load is that of a 3/4 ton but rides like a 1/2 ton. You can't go wrong with a Tundra no matter what trim you get, it will last a long time. I know I only had mine 3 1/2 years but it was like still new when I sold it, its good value for the money.
