CHANGES FOR 2014:
-SE Limited Edition replaces 10th Anniversary Edition
-New audio systems across the line, and GT and GT AWC get display audio with colour LCD screen
Following last year's addition of the all-wheel drive GT AWC model, Mitsubishi's compact Lancer moves into 2014 with trim updates.
Trim levels include DE, SE, SE Limited Edition, SE AWC, GT and GT AWC.
DE, SE and SE Limited Edition and GT models use a 2.0L four-cylinder engine making 148 hp and 145 lb-ft of torque, and SE AWC and GT AWC models get a 2.4L good for 168 hp and 167 lb-ft. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard in DE, SE, SE Limited Edition and GT models; a continuously variable automatic (CVT) is optional in all but the GT. SE AWC and GT AWC use Mitsubishi's all-wheel drive system (dubbed all-wheel control) and come exclusively with the CVT.
Standard features in DE trim include seven airbags (including driver's knee blocker), four-wheel disc brakes with anti-lock, electronic brake force distribution, brake override and brake assist, anti-theft engine immobilizer, 16-inch steel wheels with covers, black mesh grille, auto-off headlights, foldable power-adjustable side mirrors, four-way driver's seat, power door locks, power windows with auto-up and driver's auto-down, four-speaker stereo, tilt steering, illuminated ignition switch, and multi-function trip computer.
SE trim adds 16-inch alloy wheels, chrome grille surround, heated side mirrors, front airdam, heated front seats, six-way adjustable driver's seat, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, upgraded cloth seat upholstery, rear centre armrest with cupholders, silver steering wheel accents, dark silver instrument panel and front door accents, floor mats, air conditioning, rear seat heater floor ducts, Bluetooth, keyless entry, cruise control, and steering wheel-mounted cruise and audio controls.
SE Limited Edition models get unique 16-inch wheels, fog lights, sunroof, rear wing spoiler, exhaust finisher, Limited Edition badging, leather-trimmed steering wheel, shifter and parking brake handle and an upgraded four-speaker stereo with speed-compensated volume and equalization.
SE AWC models build on SE trim, and get the larger engine, CVT, all-wheel drive, rear stabilizer bar and hydraulic power steering assist.
GT trim reverts back to the smaller engine, front-wheel drive and manual transmission, and adds Ralliart front bumper with chrome surround, fog lights, sunroof, exhaust finisher, leather seats, chrome HVAC trim, chrome-plated interior door handles, automatic climate control, intelligent keyless entry, 710-watt, nine-speaker stereo, satellite radio, high-contrast gauges and colour multi-function trip computer.
GT AWC models build on the SE AWC, and add five-spoke wheels shared with the SE Limited Edition, fog lights, sunroof, exhaust finisher, leather seats, leather-trimmed steering wheel, shifter and parking brake handle, chrome HVAC accents, chrome-plated interior door handles, automatic climate control, intelligent keyless entry, 710-watt stereo, high-contrast gauges and colour multi-function trip computer.
