Fantastic ride!
This is the best car I've ever owned or driven...and it is SO much fun to drive! Never had any mechanical issues. Disappointed that I have to take it in to a dealer for the nationwide recall on a switch, but at least I don't have to pay for it and it's not something that's the car's fault or problem...that's the fault of the manufacturer and they're fixing it so all's great!

Good for the money.
My girlfriend has put 120 000Km on her cobalt over the last 5 years. It has been a good commuter. Although it has had it's issues. The worst were the ignition key cylinder, transmission cooler lines and the steering column shaft all needing replacement. We use the car regularly for trips to the East Coast from Ontario and have always liked how much stuff we can cram into the fairly large trunk. One of the worst things about the car is the seats. After a few hours behind the wheel they become pretty harsh and hard on the back. I would recommend this car for a first car or someone looking for a car on a budget.

powerful small car
This little car has serve me very well for 8 years and is still in great condition . It is great for both city and highway driving. Never had any mechanical problems. According to my mechanic the engine is a corolla engine.
The only problem I had is the keys . The buttons became defective after only a few years.

Going to be a sad good-bye
This car is very comfortable, reliable, and a looker. Not really brand new baby friendly so we had to get a family vehicle to better suit our new life. Well maintained and a lot tlc put into it. Time to move on from it though.

Fun and reliable
Fun to drive ,very reliable, good gas millage Winter tires tend to be a bit noisy but overall a great drive. The 5 speed makes it fun and the extra features for the LS sport model makes it feel like a semi sport car and interior is upper black console with grey interior . The sun roof and power windows and doors is just nice. Have been driving it since 2005 and never tired of it!

Terrible car
Most uncomfortable vehicle I have ever had the pleasure of driving in. The car had electrical issues. Multiple ball joints and control arms replaced and consistently made a funny noise whenever you hit any type of bump. Would never purchase a Cobalt again!!

Disappointed
Have owned this car as my daily driver for 2 years now. My biggest problem with it are the numerous mechanical problems its had. e.g. Air conditioner, Front end suspension, Rear brake drums and more. Interior is not roomy at all and is made up cheap plastic material.

Great starter car
I would recommend this car for students or people with a smaller build. It is not very comfortable for taller people. It is a great car for highway and driving around town, but would not take long car trips with it.

Decent and Economical
This car is a respectable car if you're looking for an A->B machine with decent gas mileage and good reliability for the price. A high performance machine it is not and will never be, but at the price that you pay for it you will get reliability and gas mileage that is competitive with imports that cost 5-10k more.
The base model is missing an arm rest which does encourage you to drive with your hands on the wheel properly but also causes great discomfort on long drives.
The hidden compartment with the automatic trunk release feels cheap and will break easily.
The radio will routinely lock when you start the car and you have to restart the car to fix.

Find something else
Something is always braking on this car, the key fobs would cause the doors to rapidly lock and unlock when they were near the car, the fan control knob broke randomly. The headrest is angled too far forward and if it is at the proper height it forces you to sit with your neck forward.
Safety related issues include, headlights that do not illuminate a wide enough area (i.e. you can barely see deer in the ditches). You cannot turn TC off and the design of this traction control just cuts the revs (which is essentially like hard braking) so if you slip a little while you are driving in snow you are done.
Lastly, replacement parts are quite expensive, and the fuel economy is roughly the same as my 1989 cutlass calais.

Good car for a decent price
Have had my car for over 3 years. Have put on over 70, 000km. Has been a good reliable vehicle.
Plus: Good gas mileage, fun to drive, decent power for a 4 cylinder, has only needed basic maintenance (oil changes), Parts are easy to find as this is a popular car, large trunk, comfortable front interior
Cons: a light car so not good in high winds, bad cd player, and had a problem with the locks locking and unlocking themselves. Not a huge back seat area
All in all a good car I would recommend to anyone.

Appreciate the Little Things In Life
I know like everyone else that when someone is a car enthusiast they pass judgement on a vehicle by site and make. This Cobalt has an ecotech engine that delivers punch when you need it. It is peepy little vehicle that was priced well as they wanted to move inventory. I get 580kms per tank hwy driving. Good sound system. There are only 2 things that I find a bit frustrating and that is if you have the sunroof shade open it creates wind noise. And the other thing is my left knee has to lean on the door, so I wish there was a bit more interior space. Other than that this is a great performance car that delivers punch when needed, built strong as my other 2008 was written off in an accident and it held up very well, I was impressed how well. So take it or leave it I like my Cobalt and would recommend this to my family or friends.

I love my car. Only problem is it has a security feature built in. Sometimes when it is cold or damp outside, the car won't start for ten minutes and you have to wait before trying to start it again.

Drives great!
I've had this car since I bought it new, and it's been a real joy to own it. She's taken me all over Western Canada without fail. She handles great and has a really nice kick when you need it on the highway. Love the sound system, and for a smaller vehicle, she has a pretty big trunk and is quite comfy too!

Great overal car.
We recently got this car and even though it was used it has been awesome for us. It has a cold air intake that was added, but even before that it was great on gas. It has amazing pickup and tight handling. I recommend this car highly. The only downside is that taller people in the backseat have to hunch a bit.

Chevy Cobalt - a definite upgrade from the Cavalier
I drove this car for about 4 years. By in large, it was a pretty good car. No major breakdowns to speak of, the 'pick-up' off the line was decent (definite upgrade from its predecessor the Cavalier). The exterior rear styling was nice (turned a few heads actually when it first launched); really complimented the sport look (red/2 door). The interior needs some work though. I find GM vehicles tend to lean towards flimsy "tupperwear" like plastic for the dashboard and center console. Other than that, ample leg room in the back along with sufficient head room. All in all, a pretty decent car at it's price point. It had more features and more 'bang for your buck' than its competitors in its class.
