Toyota Matrix 2006Change

I have this car for about 10 years and it never had any problems. All I had to do was revisions. The fuel consumption is not that big.

It's a terrific car; great on gas, very spacious inside; rear sets fold down allowing for lots of cargo space

Overall its a very good vehicle, just the engine could be a bit more powerful but the fuel economy covers the lack of power. I like the features of the car regarding the space composition and the ability of folding the chairs in different positions.

This car is great on fuel and very reliable, couldn't ask for a better compact car only wish it had more room for my growing family! Otherwise we would keep it forever.

It is very versatile as it has a large cargo area when the back seats are folded down. The front passenger seat also folds down for long items. We have travelled across Canada with it, even put a rack on the top and a bike rack on it for holidays. It has been very reliable not needed any major repairs since we bought it new in 2007.

Toyota Matrix has a Corolla engine that lasts forever. You can't buy a better lasting car with never a problem. You will save a lot in maintenence and repairs.

I bought this primarily for camping trips and music festivals, and also grocery shopping in the cold winter so I didn't have to wait for the bus. It was the first car I ever owned, and I really liked it. It was snappy because of the manual transmission, and had great cargo space for camping with 4 people, and had excellent hiway fuel ecomony. There are smaller, more efficient cars out there, but nothing that makes as good of a camping car. Hatchbacks are just naturally move versatile, plus it is a super reliable Toyota. It never gave me any trouble.

its been almost 3 years that i have this car and never had a major repair problem , good and nice car to have .....

If you are looking to travel from point A to point B in a confortable way, this is your type of car, don't expect any turbo or speed on this car.

My Toyota Matrix is perfect. I've had it for many years, and have had very few issues with it. Huge amount of room, great comfort, great Fuel Economy. When I do have the rare issues, its basic maintenance that is cheap and easy to deal with.

This car has been great for country driving and taking it camping. I prefer the overall style of this model over the newer ones. There's lots of room in the back. Putting in car seats for the kids is a snap. I enjoyed the adjustable drivers seat as my husband is much taller than me. We bought this Toyota model for its ability to hold value and legendary life expectancy.

I drove the Matrix as a rental for about a month when I was deciding if I was going to buy another car. It was definitely dependable and great on gas but the interior was pretty plasticy & blah. I also am not a huge fan of the exterior - I feel like it is really an imitation of the Mazda3 (at least the 2006 model that I drove). Probably the best part of it was the colour - it was a really nice indigo colour - but don't think that's enough to recommend buying a car. I also found it rode like a bus (being quite high up above the road) but I was used to quite a low-slung sports car. One plus would be the amount of room in the car - great if you need space for transporting lots of stuff - I never had passengers in the back seat so can't really comment on the comfort of the rear seating.

Between the good amount of power, the Toyota reliability and the good comfort, the Toyota Matrix is probably one of the best Toyota cars. I love mine, I enjoy knowing that I don't need roadside assistance on speed dial and know that I'm not blowing my budget going from point a to point b.

If you're in the market for a reliable and comfortable car, get this one.!!!

Although I enjoy the VERY low fuel costs and spunky performance (Manual 6 speed transmission), I am annoyed with how loud the ambient noise is especially on the highway. I'm sure the winter tires on it have something to do with it, but when I had all-weather tires there was still running noise that is not engine related.

Other than that, it is a fun car to drive, and handles well.

We love this car. It folds down flat very easily and we have hauled everything in it from trees to patio furniture. We love it. It have never once given us an issue. It has been great in these rising gas prices. Highly recommend this car if you want a little more than Sedan but don't don't need more than 5 seats!

Performance
-Nothing that stands out, the standard transmission helps.
-AWD option makes it a competitor/alternative for the Impeza but be ready to pay for the AWD. Its not in the Corolla price bracket.

Interiors
-Feels cheap, the dark grey plastic is not pleasant in this car, while its not the worst I have seen better in other Toyotas.
-Overall did not feel like Toyota quality, the interiors do not exceed the quality found in a Yaris.

Maybe its just this car, but I feel this is a (bit of a) let down from Toyota. On the other hand the car will get the job done and overall is at least average in its category. Unless you want AWD, consider a Corolla instead.
