Economic and Dependable
HAd this car for many years and it's only just now being surpassed on fuel economy by Hybrids. It's also roomy on the inside I'm 6'1" and no issues. Hatch is convenient

Also the maintenance costs have been much lower than all my other cars, very dependable

One of the best sub-compacts around

Reliable and Economical Car
I've had this vehicle for five years and had no problems. It is my 5th Toyota vehicle. The Echo is known for it's high reviews and reliability. They have been known to turn past 500,000 km. This vehicle is very well-maintained and has all it's Service Records. I've been very happy with this vehicle and added deflectors, tint, etc. I'm only selling it because I bought a new Toyota.

Toyota Echo - The Everready bunny of small cars
This car is very reliable and handles well in city driving. Excellent gas mileage. Comfortable on the hwy but noisy. Surprisingly big inside. Can handle carrying lumber that larger cars cannot. Folding back seats provide considerable extra room. Taller people can actually sit comfortably. Centre console not a problem and you adjust very quickly to it. Air conditioning and heating works quickly and efficiently. For those looking for a small commuter car or something to carry groceries around town in, this is a great, economical vehicle. As toyota mechanic says, its just keeps on going.

Most convenient car I've ever owned!
Easy drive, basic vehicle. Extreme reliability. Every convenience one could ask for. Colour makes it highly visible on road and in parking lot! Easy clean. Is fairly tall so most don't have to bend to enter. Windows are large for great visibility.
Spacious! My 6' 2" hubby, 250lbs. loved driving this vehicle.

Reliable and economic
I have had my Echo for over 6 years. Bought is with 3+ years of use. Never broke. Never failed to start. In 6 years it's only been in a repair shop once to replace the brake pads that were worn out after 97,000 Km. Despite it's small size, I have used to transport everithing, even a bed, because with ithe back seats down it is surprisingly roomy. The engine is quite powerful for its size and wih a manual transmission it can give a hard time in a 0-100 start to most automatics with a much bigger engine.
Fuel economy .... Only hybrids can beat it.
My only complain about it is the design of the back seats that, despite having enough space for 3, can only accomodate 2 people due to a cup tray in the middle of the seats.

Fun and dependable
I love this car for what it is. It's no truck or sports car but for a compact car it's amazing. It incredible on gas and has never burnt a single drop of oil, never mind actual repairs of which there were none. Plus, it's zippy and fun.

Toyota Echo - Reliability Meets Efficiency
I own a 2004 Toyota Echo, SR. I love this vehicle for getting around the city. It is fast enough from 0 to 60 and efficient enough to make me feel both powerful and intelligent. You can't go wrong with this car.

It's a Toyota product - what else needs to be said?
This has been one of our cars since 2003, when it was purchased. It now has more than 223K KM on it and we have not yet had any unscheduled repairs - not even the brakes (the vehicle is a 5 speed and we always use the engine and downshifting to help savethe brakes). We have not done the 2 dozen or so scheduled maintenances that Toyota would like us to complete, because unlike a Harley Davidson, this product does not seem to require them. We have put in new wiper blades (several times), new tires several times, use good quality synthetic oil and change it regularly. They are telling us now that the brakes will soon need to be done, but I don't mind whe the car has gone 223K KM before the brakes needed to be done. I have owned other popular north American models and have had to change the brakes at less than 70K KM (automatics).
The seating is very comfortable, it is cheap to run and maintain, looks good and has hauled lumber that the lumber yard guys said would never fit - little board like 16 foot 2X4's and 14 foot 2 X ^'s and 12 foot @ X 10's - what ever the size our Toyota handles it. We love our Toyota and love driving it each and every day.I recently found our outside plug-in has not been working the few times I have plugged it in (when it gets below -20, but then again, it's a Toyota - what more needs to be said?

Low gas mileage
I bought this vehicle to save on gas. I have not been disappointed. I currently drive >100km a day to and from work, so fuel efficiency and reliability are all that I'm looking for. Although the outside design is "cute," I would recommend the Echo to anyone that is smart enough to care about the future of the environment (and their pocket book.)

2004 TOYOTA Echo 4 Door Sedan
The Toyota Echo 4 Door Sedan for the power to rate ratio is amazing!!! I have never driven any other small compact car that has that much power up hills and yet very comfortable to drive from Vancouver to Palms Springs no problem. You can drive this little thing 85 MPH all day comfortably. (Only in Southern Utah with 80MPH posted speed :). It has a timing chain, not a belt, so it goes and goes. Heater puts out great and OEM stereo sounds great. (Speakers weak) I've been told if you service it regularly they will go 600, 000 kms no problem. The fuel economy is unbelievable for a non-hybrid and we have gotten as high as 53-57 MPG on the Hwy on US I-5 to California. Its looks are not going to win any beauty contests, but the only way to sum up the Toyota Echo is, “It’s the Honda Lawn Mower of Automobiles!!!" Five Stars all the way!

Very Nice
This car is very nice, especially for a smaller car. There is plenty of room for driver and passenger. Storage space is good, but obviously you can't haul the same amount of cargo that you could in a truck. I've never experienced any issues with running, and it is far better on fuel than any of my other cars.

Very economical!
I've had my echo for a while now and the best thing I can say about it is it has saved me alot of money because it doesnt use alot of fuel. Also the parking spaces in parallel are easy because the car is so small. The comfort is pretty average but the view from the windows is pretty great which makes is easy compared to other cars to view all angles making the driving safe. The only downside is that the power is a bit low. The problem with that is when you have uphills its sometimes hard to get on top, even more if like me your in a winter country. But if your in the city this car is really good ! But ive been really happy with this car so id recommend it to anyone !

No complaints
I bought the 2-Door base model (manual transmission) used 3 years ago and have no major complaints so far. Its fun to drive and gets great fuel economy. The only issue I really have with the car is that roof racks can't be installed on the two door model, but aside from that its been reliable, low cost transportation.

Reliable Ride
Bought this car new in 2004. Since then have had no major issues. Just performed general maintenance and is run super well. On the small side so not as practical now that we are a family of 4 but for a work vehicle couldn't ask for anything better!

A dependable little car, that does the job.
This has been my first car, and it's been a great little machine. It gets me where I want to go, and has had no major problems since I got it used in 2009. It's been across the country twice, I drove it for two years for 120km a day every day, and now has over 200,000 km on it, but all I've ever had to replace are the shocks and struts on it. It's not the most comfortable car on the inside, being very compact, and it doesn't exactly wow you with its powerful engine, but it's got great acceleration and handling, and does everything a car needs to do if you're a decent driver who doesn't break the law. A friend of mine has an Echo of a similar vintage, and it's been similarly reliable for them as well. This is a great car to get if you have a minimal used car budget - absolutely no regrets, and I'd buy a Toyota again in a heartbeat (even though I don't know if they make 'em like this anymore).

Big Bang for Little Bucks
We purchased our Echo in 2004 and have loved it ever since. We always take our Echo to the dealer for it's regular maintenance and to-date have only spent around $5000 not counting gas and insurance. We have driven our Echo to Ottawa from London a few times and find it very comfortable. We only wish we added the remote door lock and cruise control package. We are planning on keeping the Echo for a long time. Why replace a good thing.

Commuter car
When my husband got a job in downtown vancouver, we needed to find a car that was reliable and good on gas. He drove 240 km per day for 3 years. 3 years later and after putting over 200,000 K on the car, it owed us nothing and we have passed in on to our niece. It is a little noisy but I would say as a commuter car it delivers.
