Hyundai Santa Fe 2009Change

I bought a previously used seven-year-old car more than one year ago. The fuel consumption is a little bit high, but overall the car is good. No special problems.

I bought my 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited new. It now has 70,000 km on it. I have had to replace the MAF sensor, two steering racks, an axle, the valve cover seals and worst of all, a $2500 repair for the front engine seal. There is a big plate on the front of the engine that Hyundai seals with silicone, not a gasket, and it fails - check the Internet!
Everything else is pretty good. There are a lot of features for the money and it is comfortable to drive. It is too bad it is so unreliable, as I have owned three Hyundai's previously that were very reliable.

I've had the suv just over a year now, bought in Jan 2015. No problems whatsoever. AWD works perfect in winter. The stereo is a bit poor so I replaced it myself - a bit of a big project as all the dash trim all the way from the passenger side had to come off first - but got er done. Only problem I've had is the hand pump for the drivers seat leaks slowly - I have to pump it up every other day.

This is by far my the best car I've ever owned. It feels so luxurious and spacious. It's been a fantastic vehicle for family use.

The" Limited" has every bell & whistle that you could possibly need!
AWD with shiftmatic has been superb during the winter months, as she sticks to the road like glue.
Cornering & handling, as well as acceleration is extremely spirited & smooth ..... a real FUN vehicle to drive!

This vehicle handles well and has plenty of space. It is extremely reliable and with new tires and brakes should provide plenty of no trouble miles ahead.
Vehicle is easy to work on. Many nice features. The V6 Power is smooth and reliable. Fuel economy is surprising.

Compare before you buy any other SUV

Great vehicle with plenty of power. No problems with the all wheel drive system. Excellent vehicle for Ontario winters, spent many winter weekends up north and never had a worry about the snow!!!

This is a great SUV. Very quiet on the road and will also bring you off road where ever you need to go.

Very well designed, reliable SUV with a very strong V6 engine. The transmission has a manual mode which works very well in mountainous terrain. Great vehicle for both parking in town and driving on the highway.

No problems with this vehicle. only reason for selling is more children so need more luggage space.

We purchased our vehicle brand new and everything was good for the first year and a half. After that, things started to go wrong. We have had multiple electrical problems with it and it is now past the warranty. The gas mileage isn't as good as we were lead to believe. Over all, the car is not worth the money that we paid for it.

Very reliable AWD vehicle, if you are looking for a spacious, gasoline efficient, comfortable SUV this is it! Great for highway driving, or scooting about town. Starts in minus 25 no problems. Surprising pick-up for highway driving.

This is a great SUV, roomy, comfortable, loaded with standard features, fun to drive and very safe.

Never had a mechanical problem with this vehicle. The only reason we are selling is because we decided to change to a minivan.

The 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe is great. This midsize crossover SUV in GLS,. All offer front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive that allows locking in a 50/50 front/rear power split. All Santa Fes have a V6 engine. The GLS has a 185-hp 2.7-liter, while SE and Limited have a 242-hp 3.3-liter. GLS is available with manual or automatic transmission. SE and Limited have a 5-speed automatic. Maximum towing capacity is 3500 lb. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, front side airbags, and curtain side airbags. All models seat five, but an available Touring Package adds a 50/50 split 3rd-row bench seat. An auxiliary audio-input jack with USB port is newly standard on all 2009 Santa Fe models. The SE's Touring Package now includes a power driver seat.

Live in Calgary and enjoy the feeling of the Santa Fe even when driving out to the mountains to ski, hasn't done anything that a car built for Canada wouldn't do already, not to mention the heated seats.... Overall love this vehicle!

The Santa FE is the best SUV for a family. The SUV has a great interior design is unique with a great wood finish to the dashboard . The exterior looks very nice in any color and it also looks luxuries. It is reliable and has great steering and performance. I haven't had a single problem with the car. There is only a couple of Cons to the car thow: the fuel economy is a bit low but thats because its a V6 and it stabilizes itself threw performance, It also should come with & seats on all the models . Despite the Cons All in All this car is the very rounded and with its price is great for anyone

The car supports up to five people, with a large trunk. The design both on the outside and inside of the car is attractive and has been designed with creativeness. It has very good fuel economy and that is not a problem for drivers. The Santa Fe also has a easy to use/ straight forward to understand infotainment system. However, there are also some flaws. One is the steering, as it is not very steady and doesn't have a sharp feel to it. However, it is easy enough to handle and has been improved from previous versions with better control, performance, and can be afforded for a logical price.

I purchased my Santa Fe new in 2009. In the first 6 months the sunroof broke and the fuel cap was faulty. Due to the larger size engine, the fuel economy is poor. But the car drives and handles well. The vehicles bumper to bumper warranty is great and lasts longer than other manufacturers. I am pleased with my SUV despite the minor set backs. I would recommend this vehicle to others.

We purchased this car when I was pregnant with my first child as a family car. So far, it has done a great job!

If you had told me, in the late 80s, that one of my future cars would be a Hyundai, I'd have probably looked at you like you had a squirrel growing out of your head. Hyundai's Pony and Excel models of that generation did not garner much admiration in those days – unless you had a rust fetish.

26 years later, in April 2012, I bought a pre-owned 2009 Santa Fe GLS 3.3L V6, 5-speed automatic with all the bells and whistles you could possible want, except for Bluetooth connectivity. Leather, power and heated everything (including the lower part of the windshield for the wipers), loads of cargo room and of course, ground clearance for my jaunts on the rutted, gravelly backroads of Dufferin/Grey/Bruce counties.

What I like:
Seats are great for my long drives. It handles well and cruises along nicely on all kinds of terrain, but has enough grunt for quick maneuvers. Cargo space is terrific - I was able to stuff my bike into the back (seats folded down) without having to remove the front tire. It also shuttles five passengers comfortably (as long as at least one person in the back is on the slim side). Gas mileage is surprisingly good for such a large vehicle. ~9L/100 km highway, 10.8L/100 km city.

What I don't like:
The battery needed replacing at the seven-month mark, and I've already got a front passenger-side Jetta Wink going on. I also don't understand why I can't charge my devices when the engine is off. Not very handy when your phone dies when you're camping.

That said, all cars have their gremlins. My overall experience has been great, and I still find myself admiring it every day. It's the perfect cruiser for long country rides with camping gear and friends in tow – the reason I bought it in the first place. Today, if someone told me they'd never buy a Hyundai, I'd look at them like they had a squirrel growing out of their head. And that says a lot. Good job, Hyundai!

I am very happy owning this vehicle it's comfortable easy to drive and roomy enough for what we need

We bought the SUV new, traded in our 2007 Santa Fe. In first year had a trailer hitch installed, just wish it had a better towing capacity, but it pulls our tent trailer fine. The KM/100 L is not as good as our 2007 model but is is within one to three litres. Another minor complaint is that the only way to open the rear hatch from the rear of the vehicle without the electronic opener, a mechanical button would be greatly appreciated.
