For 2013, the Elantra sedan continues on relatively unchanged. However, two stablemates join the successful sedan - Elantra Coupe and Elantra GT - to give the nameplate a breadth of variants (the Elantra GT is a completely different architecture, based on the European i30, and will not be covered in this guide).
All Elantra variants and trims are powered by a DOHC 16-valve, four-cylinder engine with D-CVVT (Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing) and two-stage Variable Intake System (VIS), producing 148 hp and 131 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic with SHIFTRONIC manual mode. Both get coil springs and mono-tube gas shocks in the back. The SE coupe receives an upgraded sport suspension.
