What's next for the Ridgeline

In July 2026, Honda confirmed that production of the second-generation Ridgeline in Alabama ends later in 2026 and that a third generation will launch in about two years, designed in Southern California and engineered in Ohio. Earlier reporting by Automotive News, cited by The Car Guide, described an 18-month production pause starting this fall. Honda Canada says the Ridgeline remains an important model in its lineup.

On certain vehicles, the tailgate wiring harness could become damaged. As a result, the rearview camera image may not display when the transmission is shifted into the reverse gear. 

Safety Risk: 
A rearview camera image that doesn't display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash.

Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the tailgate wiring harness.

Issue: 
This recall is for low-pressure fuel pumps installed on certain vehicles or sold at dealerships as a replacement part. 

On certain vehicles, the low-pressure fuel pump could fail. If this happens, the engine may run rough or may not start and the check engine light may turn on. This could also result in a sudden loss of engine power while driving. 
Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2023-679. Vehicles that were repaired under that recall don't require this repair.

A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash.

The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the fuel pump motor.

On certain vehicles, the steering gearbox may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the inner joint may loosen and detach from the steering rack, causing a loss of steering control.

Issue: 
On certain vehicles, the weight sensor for the front passenger seat may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the passenger-front airbag and knee airbag could deploy in a crash that doesn't require them to. 
Note: If the weight sensor fails, the SRS warning light would turn on in the instrument panel. 

Safety Risk: 
An airbag system that doesn't work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. 

Corrective Actions: 
Honda will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership for an inspection if the SRS warning light is on. If the SRS warning light is on due to a faulty weight sensor, the weight sensor will be replaced. When repair parts are available, Honda will send you a second letter. They will advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the passenger-front seat weight sensor.
