2013 Ford Edge

CHANGES FOR 2013:

- Six-speed SelectShift automatic now available with sport mode.

- SEL offers unique leather-trimmed seats with Alcantara gray suede inserts, a body-coloured grille, unique floor mats, and new contrasting painted and machined 20 inch wheels.

- Paint changes: Deep Impact Blue Metallic, Kodiak Brown Metallic, and Ruby Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat added.

There are few crossovers or SUVs in any class that offer more than a pair of engines. The Edge, however, comes with a choice of three. The most interesting is the 2.0L EcoBoost four-cylinder. It's the least powerful of the three, but has all the power to suit most drivers' needs. A redesigned version of the MyFord Touch system is an improvement, but still not perfect. The Edge excels where it needs to: it's comfortable and quiet inside, and goes down the road with a combination of refinement and performance more typical of pricier crossovers.

SEL trim adds 18-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, particulate air filter, leather-wrapped steering wheel with cruise and audio controls, auto-dimming rear view mirror, dual illuminated vanity mirrors, rear cargo management system, cargo net, SYNC with MyFord, compass, satellite radio, upgraded cloth seats, 10-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, EasyFold rear seat back release, automatic headlights, reverse sensing system, heated mirrors, body-colour exterior mirror caps and door handles, and SecuriCode keyless entry keypad.

Limited trim adds ambient lighting, universal garage door opener, SYNC with MyFord Touch, rear view camera, memory feature for driver's seat and exterior mirrors, Sony audio, media hub, leather-trimmed seats, 10-way power front passenger seat, chrome beltline moulding, and 18-inch chrome-clad aluminum wheels.

Sport trim adds 22-inch forged aluminum wheels, 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 engine, paddle shift functionality, sport suspension, unique charcoal black leather-trimmed seats, 6-way power fold-flat front passenger seat, Tuxedo Black painted grille, unique headlight and taillight treatment, body-colour front and rear lower fascia, body-colour side lower cladding and rocker moulding, and oval exhaust tips.
