History/Overview
The Audi SQ5 is a performance variant of the brand's Q5 compact crossover. It's a relatively new addition to the model line, added five years after the Q5's introduction in 2009.

Available Trims
Audi offers the SQ5 in Progressiv and Technik trim; it leaves out the regular Q5's entry-level Komfort package. All SQ5 models use a 3.0L turbocharged V6 engine, eight-speed transmission and Quattro AWD.
Standard Features
New items for 2020 are a first aid kit, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, the virtual cockpit digital gauge cluster, pre-sense city forward collision avoidance assist and pre-sense rear collision mitigation.
SQ5 Progressiv exterior features include 20-inch wheels, adaptive suspension, LED headlights and taillights, aluminum roof rails, front and rear parking sensors, hands-free tailgate operation, passive keyles entry, LED all-weather lights, automatic engine stop/start, and power-folding/auto-dimming side mirrors.
Inside, the SQ5 Progressiv comes with navigation, an 8.3-inch infotainment display, power-adjustable front seats with lumbar and driver memory, cruise control, a panoramic sunroof, an integrated garage door opener, three-zone automatic climate control, smartphone interface with USB input, drive modes, a 10-speaker stereo, aluminum inlays, a heated steering wheel, Audi Connect services, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, Nappa leather upholstery, 7.0-inch colour driver info display, and Bluetooth.
SQ5 Progressiv safety features comprise front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, a first aid kit, rain-sensing wipers and auto on/off headlights, automatic high beams, rear-door child safety locks, city-speed forward collision avoidance, rear collision mitigation, and tire pressure monitoring.
For 2020, Technik trim adds a power-adjustable steering column, and further brings a B&O 3D sound system, 360-degree exterior camera views, heated/cooled cupholders, exit warning, customizable ambient interior lighting, and heated rear seats.
Key Options
Both trims can be optioned with a comfort interior package of ventilated front seats and rear-door sunshades.
Also offered on Progressiv and Technik models is an advanced driver assistance package of adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, full-speed forward collision avoidance, active lane assist and traffic congestion assist.
Fuel Economy
Audi's fuel consumption estimates for the SQ5 are 12.7/10.0 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
With the SQ5, Audi competes with a specific subset of upscale compact crossovers. Those include the BMW X3 M40i, the Lexus RX F-Sport, the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43, the Volvo XC60 T6, and the Porsche Macan S.
