The S6 is one of Audi’s two performance-oriented interpretations of its mid-size A6 sedan, adding high-tech tricks to improve the A6’s already-impressive handling and power. The current S6 dates back to a 2020 redesign.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
For 2022, the S6 gains a few new features, which we’ve detailed below.
Audi sells the S6 in a single trim level. Power is from a 2.9L turbocharged V6 engine with mild hybrid assist, an eight-speed transmission, and AWD.
Audi fits the S6 with 21-inch wheels, power-folding/auto-dimming side mirrors, LED exterior lighting, panoramic sunroof, passive keyless entry, four-zone A/C, power door closers, digital gauges, a new-for-2022 heated steering wheel, Valcona leather with dash trim, ambient lighting, and a toll transponder. A 10.6-inch touchscreen controls Apple CarPlay, B&O audio, head-up display, and navigation.
Most of the S6’s new-for-2022 standard kit consists of safety features, most of which were part of last year’s advanced driver assistance package: pre sense city, pre sense rear, adaptive cruise control, active lane departure warning, intersection assistant, traffic jam assist, traffic sign recognition, turn assistance, top-view cameras, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic assist, and automatic high beams.
An S6 sport package adds a sport differential, all-wheel steering, and red brake calipers.
Audi estimates the S6’s fuel consumption at 12.8/8.5 L/100 km (city/highway).
