The Ford Fusion Energi is the most advanced version of Ford's mid-size sedan. Building on the gas-electric Fusion Hybrid, the Energi adds plug-in charging to give the car about 40 km of all-electric driving range. The Fusion Energi will probably disappear after 2020, along with the rest of the Fusion lineup.
Ford offers the Fusion Energi in SEL and Titanium trims. Both use a 2.0L gas engine that works with an electric motor, a continuously variable transmission and front-wheel drive.
Ford Fusion Energi SEL comes standard with 17-inch wheels, dual-zone automatic climate control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning with automatic braking, a 4.2-inch digital gauge cluster display, rain-sensing wipers, active noise control, tilt-and-telescopic steering, leather-trimmed steering wheel, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, adaptive cruise control, garage door opener, passive keyless entry, an 11-speaker stereo, Sync 3 infotainment, satellite radio, heated front seats with 10-way driver and six-way front passenger adjustments, cloth upholstery, LED headlights, taillights and signature lighting, automatic high beams and an electric parking brake.
Titanium trim adds a heated steering wheel, ambient interior lighting, a 12-speaker stereo, navigation, leather upholstery, cooled front seats, LED fog lights, backup sensors, a rear spoiler and a sunroof.
Ford's fuel consumption estimates for the Fusion Energi are 5.5/5.8 L/100 km (city/highway) when running in gas-electric hybrid mode. In EV mode, the Energi's rating is 2.3 Le/100 km.
