Volkswagen Golf 2012Change

The Volkswagen Golf is a very comfortable car to be in. The fuel economy is quite acceptable. It performes well, and you really feel like you have a good control on the road. The Interiour Design is quite good as well, the company seems to try switching or changing theDesign every year or so, however I think that they should keep or stick with what works best. The exterior styling is fine. The Volkswagen Golf is a very reliable car.

What a phenomenal car! My husband and I have put over 100,000kms on our TDI Golf and we just love it! The fuel economy is amazing (yes, we have gone 1000kms on one tank!) and we love the torque that the diesel engine gives us. The interior is fantastic - it is built with the highest quality materials and you can tell it has that European touch - everything feels nice, sounds nice and works perfectly. The space allocation is also outstanding! We have managed to fit 4 people, 1 dog and enough luggage for a 3 week trip in this vehicle which is outstanding. It has more leg room in the back seat than most SUVs. We haven't had any problems with it and we get so many complements on this vehicle we just love it!

LOVE the TDI diesel Golf. These are made in Germany which means extremely tight engineering compared to the Jetta's which are made in Mexico.
Back seat is comfortable with lots of space.
6 gears - great sound, quiet ride

I did not expect the fuel economy on this car, very impressive to start with. after a few months riding, this car provides excellent driving experience in Canadian winter (armed with winter tires, but the car itself did help a lot). in love with it!

Unlike japanese car (same category) interiour feels upscale, quality.
2.5 l engine gives more than enough power.
Styling is just right, not too avangarde or not too plain.

I purchased this car used from a dealer. It was traded in after only 4 months so I got a good price - saved $5000 over buying brand new. It is fun to drive and very responsive. The interior is well designed with good quality materials. The navigation, bluetooth etc are easy to use. I did not purchase the diesel and I am very disappointed with the fuel economy. I get 10km per 100 litres. The car has 6000 kms on it so its still being broken in and it is winter but I could have gotten a larger vehicle with all wheel drive and still gotten the same kind of fuel economy. I have also read a few reviews (Lemonaid) that say the car will become very expensive to maintain once it is 5 years old. I am planning to sell after 2 years and get a Hyundai Tucson which has the same fuel consumption but much more space and a better record for reliability.

The volkswagen golf or any model for that matter is a very good car, the only problem i have ever heard about volkswagen is that is a part on the car breaks or needs to be replaced it cost an arm and a leg to get a new replacment. other then that great car and really good on gas.

I have had absolutely no problems with this car. It is super quick and great on gas. It is great size, making it easy to park and fit in small spaces.

I have had 3 Golfs now, this one is by far the best. I am currently getting over 900 kms per tank which is roughly $65 to fill. I don't know why more people don't drive these cars. The Volkswagen product is fantastic value for the money!

I drove this car for a few days to and from work to see if it would work for me as a commuter car. I was pleasantly surprised. The person who leant it to me told me the Turbo Diesel was great on gas, and they didn’t lie. I was getting 5.9L/100km on the 407 (read driving fast). So I expected great mileage, but didn’t expect how well the car would actually handle. For such a small car, and being a diesel, I wasn’t expecting the torque at high speeds. I have to say it actually had the power and performance of a much sportier car, without any whine or vibrations. The interior was also better than I had expected. The Bluetooth interface for the phone was easy to setup, and very intuitive. There were some drawbacks. The 2 gas stations closest to my work don’t have diesel. When slowing to a stop, I found the engine would engage, and slow the car quicker and jerkier than I expected (which took some getting used to). Overall I would have bought this car if it weren’t for the fact that a used one is nearly the same price as a new one. I guess some people see that as a benefit, but I’m always looking for a deal.
