Great little car
I have had this car for 240,000 kms since new. It has only let me down once, just needed a $60.00 ignition switch. Its not fancy and not the most comfortable but it goes and goes. Got me across the country 3 times and everywhere in between. Love this little car, too bad GM killed one of its best lines. I would recommend an ION to anyone that needs a reliable little inexpensive car.

Always look brand new
Had 3 saturns, and always like the car, drove well, and always looked good, no rust in plastic. Had very few problems with each saturn I had. the drive was very smooth. the only thing bad I would say, is the pickup with the V4 was a little sluggish, but once it was up there, it ran well on the highway.

Comfortable ride and great on gas
To date I have had positive experiences with this car. It is great for driving all year around. I have winter tires on it in the winter to help with some of the snow and ice that we experience

Very Reliable
Because it is made of a plastic polymer, the body doesn't have a single spot of rust. It has excellent fuel mileage; It costs about $55 (@ 1.31/L) to fill the tank from empty and I don't have to fuel up again for about a week. And that's city driving for at least 2 hours/ day. With winter tires it handles beautifully in the snow.

Quite a remarkable car
The Saturn ION series is quite reliable, with comfort in mind. Its performance and fuel economy aren't that bad as well. With some bold interior and exterior designs, overall the Saturn ION is an exceptional car.

not a bad car at all!
I've had this car for almost 2 years and doubled the kilometers on it and I haven't had any problems. 127 000 km's and all the work I have had to do was change a set of tires and change the oil, I love it! the only problem is the interior is cheap, but it cleans very well!! I'm a detailer so I know the fabric installed in this car was much more costly then what they use on all the new 2013's.

Great Car, Great Price
The saturn ion is definitely a car that gets overlooked when competing with other makes. This car is great! It runs smoothly and gets good MPG to where i'm only filling up every other week rather than every week. While the interior may not be the best, the exterior certainly has a wonderful sleekness to it. Overall it is a great car certain to provide a comfortable experience.

Most reliable car I've ever owned!
I bought this car brand new and have loved it from the beginning. It has been easy to maintain, always starts in the dead of winter, has never let me down, and has been great for getting me around.
I always felt safe in this car, and am proud to pass this along to a future owner, who will take as good care of it as I have.

A well rounded car.
Most of the components of this car have been excellent, needing very little service. The suspension however has been a constant problem. This car needs constant attention and new suspension parts every 20000 kms. It has the same body frame and design as the Colbalts. Another potential problem is the recall from GM which basically said, "If your electronically assisted steering fails we will replace it". Isn't that a little late?

Cool and functional car
This was the first car I bought new and I loved it. The suicide doors where great and made a 2 door car much more useful. Sporty to get around in and comfortable enough for long road trips. Minimal maintenance and dent resistant doors are awesome.

Great car, great milage!
Love my car, I've had it now for 8 years and it's been wonderful. The only thing I can complain about is the common problem of the Ignition switch. When that goes it's a pain to start.

Reliable
I have been driving this car for 3 years. The car handles extremely well in the winter even when I am late getting snow tires on...the brake system and steering are easy to adjust to the conditions. My only regret is that I don't have air conditioning. This is my second Saturn that I have owned and will be last since the company is no longer in operation. However, I believe the car will be around for quite a while.

Good looking car
Love my 2005 Saturn Ion. Bought the car second hand and have had very little maintenance. Good gas mileage and seats a family of 5 quite comfortably.

Get what you pay for
There are known issues with the starter. There is a problem with the security system which senses your key to allow ignition, if your key is not perfect or if it's a cold day, it thinks you are trying to steal the car. So you spend a cold winter morning wondering why your car won't start. Additionally, I have had to replace the battery and the starter in the last 4 years of owning the car. Otherwise, I have no problems with the car. It is quite peppy and is relatively fuel efficient (I regularly get 10km/L with mostly city driving) considering its age.

Love this car.
I've owned my Saturn Ion 2 (2007) for 5 years, and have racked up a lot of KM. I wish they still manufactured them as I have fallen in love with the centralized control console, and do not know how i will adjust to driving a car without one.

Economic family car
My husband uses it for work as he supports clients to appointments and to outings. The trunk is large enough for wheel chairs which is a must for his job! They also fit in the back seat! Sometimes he takes them on long trips out of town and the car has not let him down yet! We do regular maintenance on the car and have not run into any problems as of yet. However we do find the two front seats are not very comfortable on long trips. The exterior design and interior design need work but does not effect the function of the car.

Practica
I purchased my Silver Nickel 2004 Saturn ION-3 Quad Coupe in late October of 2004. It was a spur-of-the-moment action. I traded in my Blue 2002 Saturn SC1, which had well over 40,000 miles. It was a great little, which I still miss.
The ION QC has much better styling than the sedan of the same year model. The 16" Alloy Wheels look fantastic, though I am not too fond of the Firestone Firehawk GTAs applied to them. As of right now, though, they have done well. However, I would have preferred a better tire. The Dual Rear Access Doors are not only useful for people or things, they do not detract from the coupe's styling. Polymer panels help keep the car looking newer longer, and help prevent dents. I have heard people often complain about the gaps in the polymer panels (which allow the polymer to expand in the heat), but I see no problem. The never really notice.
The interior of the car is decent, but could use some improvement. The driver's seat in the ION-3 has the lumbar support knob, as well as a seat height adjuster. The seats themselves are comfortable. The steering wheel may look like something off a bumper car, but this smaller wheel is easy to control. The electric assist power steering makes tight maneuvers a snap. Part of the dash is made of plastic, which in my mind was a mistake on Saturn's part. Despite what many car reviews have said about the center Instrument Panel, I beg to differ. It is not that hard to get used to. It is very easy to glance over to it. Just be sure to look for the "LOW FUEL" message in the message center when you are low on gas, as there is no fuel light. Only the warning message appears, as well as a brief chime. The radio and HVAC controls are easy to use. The rear seats are fine, but it doesn't feel too much bigger than the rear seat of my old SC1. It still only seats two in the back, as there is a center console in the back.
