Great used car
Has held strong for all my years of college and university. Some issues with recalls early on but has always been a reliable ride. Starting to fall apart on me now though (Windows broken, multiple repairs needed, etc) I would buy another Saturn in the future.

My first car
I love this car. I bought it when I was 17 years old as a used, well-loved vehicle and I have loved it everyday. It's cute, it's fast, I love that it is stick shift and it is perfect for road trips. ,y only complaint is that it's a 2 door not a 4 door, but then again, I'm never stuck chauffeuring people around.

Point A to B
Nothing so great about it, not bad not good, but if you're just searching for a car. this isn't a bad car. It's somewhere between a ford taurus and a Honda accord

Awesome little car
I purchased this car as a little beater to drive back and forth to work so I wouldn't rack up so many km's on my truck and its awesome on gas!

Great, reliable and fun to drive!
Overall very pleased with this vehicle. Extremely affordable between great gas mileage and excellent technical reliability. It drives like a coupe but the interior is comfortable especially with the extra rear passenger reverse opening half doors. The extra doors and folding seats make this vehicle very adaptable to various needs with ample room for cargo or passengers. This vehicle will surprise you as it quickly responds with 174 horse power making this convenient and economical car fun to drive. Saturn's unique plastic body panels make up the majority of this cars exterior which keeps it looking clean and fresh on the road for years to come.

Very reliable car
I have had a Saturn for 10 years now. Always great on gas. Very reliable. They are made with plastic exterior, so will never rust. Look great for 10 years.

Great styling & reliability
This car was on lease for three years before I purchased it in 2009. I love the styling and reliability of the Saturn Ion and couldn't resist the suicide doors. I will never go back to a regular 2 door again. I have never had any serious issues with this car and have had it regularly maintenance.

A good first car!
The car is comfortable and easy to get used to. A good mid-sized sedan that won't guzzle gas. A comfortable ride for city driving as well as long road trips. The small sporty details are appealing.

Good Gas Saving Car
Reliable, good on gas, and hidden back doors provide good access to back seats. The interior is nice for a eco friendly vehicle and the AUX input on the radio allows for mp3/Ipod integration. Bought this car because I was on a budget and I never had any issues with it. Only money spent was on oil changes and brakes. Great little first Car.

Solid, reliable car!
I have owned this car for 7 years and had very little issues with it. Replaced the flywheel, gearbox and clutch which was the first and only major expense.

VERY reliable and has served me well

Incredibly Reliable
All I was looking for in the summer of 2010 was an affordable used vehicle. I could never have imagined that my 2003 Saturn ION would be so great. It's been exactly what I need: Fuel efficient, mechanically reliable, comfortable, stylish and when you put your foot to the floor.. it goes. I've been very impressed, and after almost 4 years of having this car in my possession, I can say without a doubt that these cars have been so very under-rated. I would buy another one in a heart beat.

Amazing ride
This car is a thrill to drive. It has amazing pickup, it's safe, has great control on the road, and definitely catches people's attention. We are sad to have to let it go, but with the new baby in the family we needed to get a larger vehicle.

Great city and occasional highway runs
A vehicle like this that has had expert care and was lightly driven. Has many years of use ahead of it. Non smoker with a meticulous maintenance/clean approach to keeping a vehicle young makes this one worth it. Drives well. It is not a speedster but gets there in style.

Love this car. Great for a city person who's looking for a manageable ride.
This car has suited me and our family well as a second car. With routine maintenance, which was inexpensive, I would recommend this car to anyone. It's gas friendly and worthy of any road.

Suits multiple purposes
This car has been in my family for 10 years. It's comfy when sitting in traffic on the highway or getting groceries. Car pooling or taking items to the church electronics depot were no problems. The vehicle has been maintained by select mechanics including the Saturn dealer and a mechanic in the last few years. Ask me about the engine or any other question.

Stage 2 Upgrade Makes It Go !
I've owned my 2004 Saturn Ion REDLINE since brand new. About 30K in to it I did the GM Performance Stage-2 Upgrade Kit which bumped it up to about 245hp. It's been a very reliable car with only a couple of problems ( when looking back were likely due to a lousy mechanic at Springman Saturn in Langley BC.)
I only have 2 complaints: one is that it is front-wheel dirve. There are faster cars out there, but not too many that can beat it without a "fight". It rides nice, corners well, the Recaro seats are comfortable, the suicide-doors are a BONUS. My second complaint is that it uses Premium gas, but since new my overall (combined-real life) gas mileage is 10.2L/100km.
This car pulls very strong in 2nd gear.

Saturns - wish they still made them
Have had the car since new in 2005 and have had very little issues with it. Replaced the fuel rack this summer which cost about $200. Overall a nice ride and is good on fuel.
No major complaints and would buy a new one if they still made them.

Gets the job done!
I find this car to have a comfortable ride. Has all the necessities, and gets pretty good fuel milage. However its not the most reliable. Most of my issues have been electrical. The computer analysis part that diagnosis issues, has major issues of its own! It constantly says to check the coolant, engine, airbags etc. despite there not being anything wrong with them. Its fine for me to drive around like this, but it makes it difficult to sell!!!! oh and the cost of fixing this problem is about $1500!!! I find the car is very cheaply made. Weather stripping is poorly done. Motors on the wipers have constant issues. Will the car get you from point A to point B, most of the time yes. But I wouldn't give it the longest life expectancy!

A great sedan
We have owned this car since new and have not found anything comparable -- the trunk space is immense and we regularly fit 4 large suitcases plus small bags. However, it is a sedan. Although the back seats go down for packing larger objects, the curved roof limits the size and shape of objects you can fit into it. If you regularly take large boxes, patio chairs, etc in your car then this is not the car for you.

We had no maintenance issues until the last 2 years -- look for issues with the power door locks and windows. It's a simple fix and inexpensive at the dealer and is related to loose wires. Also, there is a part of the suspension that has had to be replaced every 2 years -- it causes a banging over bumps at slow speeds and shakes at high speeds. It costs $100-$200 to repair.
