I have a 3.7L V6 version. Overall the car is a disappointment compared to the 3.0L 04 Mazda6 we had. The car is well appointed to be sure, with a huge trunk. However, it is a much bigger car and does not handle nor perform as well as the previous generation. Mileage is disappointing despite the 6speed auto transmission. The locking system has a mind of its own - trunk remains locked despite unlocking the car; the car has a touch unlock feature, which often locks an unlocked car etc. Was recalled for this system, but it is just as bad. The bluetooth phone system is equally bad.

I bought this vehicle in August 2012 67000km mileage. for last 15 months i have run 30000km. I did transmission oil change around 80000km. Apart from the regular oil change i didn't want to do any major repairs on it. vehicle runs well.
This is so much spacious and premium level comfort, no engine noise.
Very good fuel economy, highest i have done was 14.3 km/l on highway, average 11.4km/l

Purchased my 2009 Mazda 6 used a few years ago, and it's been a great car.
Lots of room in the trunk and rear seats. I carpool and the back seat passengers never complain. They find it very comfortable. My car has every possible upgrade including the NAV and BSM. The BSM has saved my butt several times now with cars who were hiding in my rear flanks, or snuck up some other way.
The BOSE sounds system is pretty good.

The 3.7 V6 makes good power and pulls in all gears. The only thing I wish this car came in was a MANUAL 6 Speed Transmission with the V6. Then the car would be perfect. Gas Mileage is good too. Average around 9.2 L/100 kms. City/Hwy, but can get as low as 6.9 L/100 on Hwy driving at 105 km/h on premium fuel.

It has performed exceptionally well all year round even when it's not plugged in. Still starts in very cold weather.

I have had my 2009 Mazda 6 GT since April 2009 and other than regular maintanance like oil changes, tire rotation, winter tires etc. the car hasn't seen the inside of a service bay since new. I have now 69,000 km on the car and still feels "new", Handling is like driving a sport/touring automobile and it likes being pushed....however doing so, causes the car to get a little thirsty.
Under normal driving conditions I have no trouble getting 7.9 ltrs per 100 km on the highway and about 11.5 in city driving, but that's price you have to pay for having a 3.7 ltr engine.
Styling is still now, 4 years later, better than any other midsize competitors vehicles that are coming onto the market today.
Two negatives are the expensive NAV system which was already out of date when I picked the car up and expensive to update and the low profile Micheline tires started having a "cupping" problem resulting in a "thud-thud-thud" noise from the front end which disappears after about 90 kmph. I''ll put up with it until I'm replacing the tires in the spring with Bridgestones.
Overall an excellent car and I can't wait for the new model to come out, which I'll probably buy again, unless there is another real "knock-out" midsize car in the marketplace.

Great car. It has a lot of room. It is very sporty looking. Very comfortable, reliable car. Love it.
