Chevrolet Sonic 2012-2016Change

So far, very enjoyable, great on gas. Heated seats are definitely a plus on cold winter mornings. Sunroof was an added touch for the summer. Great air conditioning system. Very large truck with amazing amount of space was a welcome surprise. Took many long drives with my car this summer and experienced a very smooth drive. Exterior styling is tasteful and all in all a very good economic car.

the 2015 Sonic is a good small vehicle, offering a very smooth ride and good manoeuvrability. it contains useful modern features, like a back up camera, and ports for connecting smartphones allowing you to play your music on the road.

the vehicle gets fairly good gas mileage, and displays how much further you can go on a tank of gas. as well, it offers a clear and concise digital indicator of your current speed.

overall it is a good vehicle. the only flaw that comes to mind is that the back seats are a little bit cramped, but it's not too bad.

i was quite surprised how much you can fit in it i have the hatchback and i have no problems with not having enough room. also picks up speed really quickly and the inside is really cool looking.

Motor runs a little louder than average but is super comfortable to drive. Styling is sleek and modern, touch screen display for radio and integrated bluetooth.

It's my first car and so far, I had no problems with it. I love how it has a back camera and it's really easy to drive it around. It already took me to far places and it never failed me at all.

This is a basic, entry-level car.
It's easy to park, great on gas.
If you're looking for an economical, small car that won't break the bank, the Sonic is for you.

Purchased this vehicle in late July, 2014 with all the rebates and employee incentives, etc., etc. I am a very tall large man, and I find this vehicle to be very comfortable. I have taken it to FL twice from Ontario, Canada. Last Nov. a large neighbour and I went to FL in complete air conditioned comfort with the cruise on for a total of $87.00. At one point the digital readout accidentally read 92 MPH. It had no trouble getting to that speed by accident. Drove/handled very well at that speed also. The car has not had one thing adjusted. One oil change provided by dealer. OnStar is great, the Sirius radio even better. Phone to screen GPS is great. I find myself jumping into it often rather than my Cadillac DTS. I'd buy another or recommend it to anyone. Mine is COOL BLUE hatchback. Never seen another one. Enjoy the remote start, and can show friends photo albums from my USB stick in park. Tons of features that most owners/testers never know because they do not read the manual. Really enjoy it and am taking it to FL again next year. Holds 2 sets of golf clubs and two passengers, suitcases, and a bottle of Jamesons comfortably. What more can you ask? Just have to sneak it away from my dear wife. JP

1.8L, 5spd manual. Got it in April since my old car crapped out. Got it with 35,000kms & 14 months of bumper to bumper warranty left on it. Other then some sensors replaced under warrenty, it has been plenty reliable. Its fast enough to be a daily driver. I find in 5th gear on the highway @100kmh it is turning 2500rpm, then @115kph it is turning 3000rpm. By the point it is getting buzzy. My average fuel composition is 7.3L/100km, that is semi hard driving The interior build quality is comparable to the aisles in Toys'r'Us, had plastics for days, but it is a cheap GM not an S-Class. It does its intended purpose well, basic transportation from Point A - B. I would not buy another one, but I would for sure recommend it for a cheap daily driver.

Pros :
-Smooth ride quality comparing with many other car's at this class.
-Quiet interior.
-Good features like back-up camera.
-Big trunk space for a sub-compact car.
-Excellent gas mileage.
-Good high seating position gives good view to all sides.

Cons :
-Driver center-arm rest is totally useless. Its high in position and couldnt rest driver's elbow. Ends up in shoulder pain.
-Cup-holders are way back behind the reach of driver and front passenger. Difficult to reach when driving.
-No CD player. USB doesn't recognize many USB-drives.
-At high speeds turning is little fearful as car sways sideways a bit, so have to slow down.

I love driving this car, the turbo gives me a boost to pull out in traffic. Love the color, style, features(backup camera, on star, side airbags),and I can fit 3 teens in the backseat. It's comfortable, reliable, great on gas milage.
I have had so many compliments since I got it. I definitely would recommend it to others.

This was only driven by Grandpa for a year before he became ill. He loved it, but can`t frive anymore so is selling. Super dependable, no issue, great tires and he loved the remote starter feature!

Awesome car in design, function and fuel efficiency! Huge trunk and ample leg room in front and back. Driver bucket seat hugs your body for a comfortable drive. 2 glove box spaces are handy as is the driver armrest. Great dash display and handy steering wheel controls. Great visibility for driver with wide windshield and rear window. A nice ride, overall. And looks great too!!

The Sonic Hatchback is an interesting car. It's small on the outside but gives a surprising amount of space on the inside for a subcompact. I'm 6'1” and over 300lbs and I'm comfortable in the car. I can even fit well into the rear seats (unlike the Ford Fiesta where I can't even get into the back seat). The new for 2013 Mylink system with 7” touch screen is very nice and works well. The car is very quiet and the interior materials are good for a car in this price point. This car is a little more expensive than some of the other cars in this segment but you also get more for your money. The Sonic handles very well and the transmission is well calibrated and smooth. We have the Sonic with the 1.8L engine. It doesn't produce a lot of torque on the low end so performance isn't spectacular but it moves the car well. For people who value performance the 1.4L Turbo might be a good choice to try.

In short this car is a nice all around car with great usable space that rides and drives like a car that is more expensive than it is.

I loved the styling of the sonic since it came out in 2012. At the end of 2012 GM introduced the RS trim. It immediately struck my attention. The RS styling is further enhanced with a ground effects package, rear spoiler, redesigned fog lights, and nice 17 inch titanium alloy wheels. Inside a leather interior with front seat suede inserts, a touch screen infotainment system. The RS rides a little bit lower and has a sportier suspension compared to the other Sonic models. Overall I love and enjoy my car's look and performance. The 1.4L turbo with a 6speed manual provides a fun and economical ride at the same time. Pricing is a little bit high but for around $2000 more than the LTZ trim, it adds many nice features. I believe that there is not many subcompact hatchbacks that can compare to the Sonic RS. I read reviews that it could use more power etc., but I believe that for the car's size and weight, it zooms around quite nicely. Sure one cannot compare this car to a VW GTI but then one can also not compare the two price tags.

Great car runs great, cheap to fill up even with todays gas prices and can get a good 600km from a tank of gas which isn't bad for 50 bucks

My experience with this vehicle thus far has been good. It gets me from point A to point B for an affordable price. It doesn't have the power you want when you go full throttle, but this vehicle wasn't meant for that. The people sitting in the back might feel a little crammed. This car would be good to own if you live in the city because you don't need to go too fast, and this vehicle has this eco-boost technology that will help save you some gas. In the end, I enjoy my Sonic because it's a fun little hatchback to cruise around town in.

My wife and I bought this car after selling our 2008 Aveo and the Chevrolet brand has once again come thru for us. The car is great on gas which is very important these days.

great small car and fuel is cheap. new vehicle is always best for experienced drivers if you can afford it. if not get somebody you can trust to help you find a good used car
