2007 Lexus LX 470

For 2007, the LX 470 receives a new Special Edition package; the base model is unchanged.

The LX 470 is a version of the Toyota Land Cruiser, a model sold in the U.S. but not available in Canada; it uses a 4.7-litre V8 with five-speed automatic transmission and full-time four-wheel drive.

Features include 18-inch alloy wheels, active height control system, ten-way driver and four-way power heated leather seats with memory, power tilt and telescopic wheel, front and rear automatic climate control, CD/DVD/cassette stereo with headphones, DVD-based navigation system with backup camera, 60/40 split middle seat, removable 50/50 split rear bench seat, auto-dimming rearview mirror, power flip-out rear vent windows, roof rack, power sunroof, illuminated running boards, power-fold auto-dimming exterior mirrors with reverse tip-down, rain-sensing wipers, intermittent rear wiper/washer, LED tail lamps, and roll-sensing front and rear curtain airbags.

The new Special Edition package adds a rear-seat DVD entertainment system with wireless headphones and remote control, exclusive high-gloss Black Onyx exterior colour, stone leather interior, black bird’s-eye maple wood trim, chrome tailpipe, chrome door handles and special-edition badges, scuff plates and floor mats.

Despite its size, the LX 470 accelerates quickly and smoothly, and even though it’s a body-on-frame, it provides a supple ride even with its off-road capability and towing capacity. The front- and second-row seats provide plenty of room, but the third row of seats will mostly be saved for short trips or smaller children. The new Special Edition is a pricey add-on, but those who like a rear-seat television should appreciate it.
