Issue: On certain vehicles, the steering column control module may not have been manufactured properly. As a result, the driver-front airbag may not inflate in a crash. Note: This problem would cause the airbag warning light to turn on. Safety Risk: An airbag that is turned off could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the steering column control module.

Issue: On one plug-in hybrid (PHEV) vehicle, the 12 V battery isolator post may not have been installed properly. As a result, there could be a short circuit. Safety Risk: A short circuit could create a fire risk, even while the vehicle is parked and turned off. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify the owner by mail and advise them to take their vehicle to a dealership to modify the 12 V isolator post. FCA Canada advises that the vehicle should be parked outdoors and away from other vehicles or structures until the recall repair has been completed.

As a result, the engine could shut down and cause a sudden loss of power to the wheels. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the power inverter module (PIM) and, if necessary, update the instrument panel cluster software.
