So a Jeep is a Jeep right. You either love them or hate them. Ours is of course the old lethargic engine that eats up gas. The interior is well... crap. The headlights are unbelievably poor as i believe they are the same in the current model. Whats up with that? There are after market sealed beams available that are much better.
Now we realize what it is and it suits our needs. It is a dog hauler, run about town vehicle and we live in a rural area.The kids can make mess and do. No big deal. It is bullet proof and fantastic in the snow. We do put winters on it.
We like it to the point that we are looking at the 12/13 with the upgraded engine and interior.

There is nothing exciting about the Pilot. The leather interior is plain. The interior is all the same colour with no accents. The exterior is a box with again zero style which for some is what they would like.
Now that being stated the Pilot is a Honda. It works and is very dependable. We have 138,000km and never a worry. No problem with three kids in the back seat as there is plenty of space.
It does suffer tremendous understeer on snow covered roads so winter tires are a must! (i am a firm believer in winters anyway)
