2009 Ford Escape

by Winter on 11-14-2012
I <3 My Escape
We gave up our beloved VW Passat because we moved north and needed something that could handle the lack of plowing and heavy snow loads...we always knew we wanted a Ford Escape.

I am not a fan of Ford cars but I think their trucks and SUVs are great.

It fits my WHOLE family (dog + cat + baby + me + husband) very comfortably and we go on LONG car rides (closest family is 1000 km away).

My biggest complaint is that the glove box is too small. It fits the owner's manuals, registration, etc and 5 napkins. Annoying!

2009 Ford Escape Review
Had this car for over a year now and have had no major problems. It is great in the winter time. The automatic 4WD always kicked in when required. It is not the best on fuel but it has plenty of power.

The newer Ford Escapes are better on fuel.

2009 Ford Escape

Comfortable, reliable, safe
Nice design, handles well, pretty good fuel economy for a 6 cylinder. I've had it for more than three years now, and nothing besides routine maintenance required. Detailed information on the dash display. Superior sound system.

Rugged looks, great vehicle
Best value for the money hands down. I have taken this Escape Camping, Hunting, Fishing and it has never let me down.
It gets me to work, lots of room for my gear, carries the Dogs and is easy to drive around the city and park.
I love my Escape!

No surprises
Solid vehicle, strong engine and reasonable fuel consumption for a V6; comfy interior - typical Frod design/layout.
Only hiccup is the transmission, which seems to have a mind of its own - needs to be warm to function properly, really jerky when cold...something the dealership describes as "normal".

Tons of torque and technology - and easy at the pump!
A 4x4 Suv that can tow for cheap! So many reasons to buy this vehicle, but the main being that it gets great fuel economy without compromising on the power. Microsoft sync system is brilliant with bluetooth, USB and power outlet to turn your vehicle into a on-the-road office. I tow 1500lbs with ease and get fantastic fuel economy in the process. Highly recommend.
