Porsche 911-gt3

Porsche

1 / 9

Porsche sold 10,010 vehicles in Canada in 2025, and the Macan was its best seller with 3,877 sales. The lineup is in transition. Production of the gas Macan and the 718 Boxster and Cayman has ended, so those models are available only from remaining inventory, while the new Cayenne Electric has begun deliveries in Canada. The 911 is having a strong 2026, with sales up by about a third through September. Porsche has also slowed its EV plans: a new gas and plug-in hybrid SUV in the Macan's size class is planned for 2028, and the Cayenne and Panamera will keep combustion engines into the 2030s. Most new Porsches are priced over CA$100,000 and pay the federal luxury tax.

What's new and what's ending at Porsche Canada

  • Cayenne Electric: the first electric Cayenne has begun deliveries in Canada, from CA$131,300, with a Coupé version also offered. The gas and plug-in hybrid Cayenne continue alongside it.
  • Gas Macan ends: production of the gas Macan has concluded, leaving the Macan Electric as the current model. Porsche plans a new gas and plug-in hybrid SUV in the same size class for 2028.
  • 718 ends: production of the 718 Boxster and Cayman has concluded. Porsche has confirmed the next 718 will be electric only, with 2028 its first full production year.
  • Strategy shift: in 2025 and 2026, Porsche delayed parts of its EV rollout. The Cayenne and Panamera will keep gas and plug-in hybrid versions into the 2030s.

Porsche EVs and plug-in hybrids

  • Electric: the Macan Electric, Taycan and Cayenne Electric. The Taycan was Porsche's first EV; its Canadian sales have slowed, to 250 in 2025.
  • Plug-in hybrids: the Cayenne E-Hybrid and Panamera E-Hybrid, both with 463 hp. The Cayenne E-Hybrid is rated at 47 km of electric range.
  • T-Hybrid: the 911 GTS and Turbo S use a performance hybrid system that does not plug in.

Luxury tax and rebates

Luxury tax. Canada's federal luxury tax applies to new vehicles priced over CA$100,000, including destination and dealer fees. It is the lesser of 10% of the full price or 20% of the amount over CA$100,000, with GST or HST charged on top. Porsche Canada's configurator estimates it for each model: CA$1,547 on a Macan 4 Electric, CA$6,057 on a Panamera, CA$10,197 on a 911 Carrera and CA$29,539 on a 911 Turbo S. With destination, fees and luxury tax, the configurator estimates a base 911 Carrera at CA$161,182.

The federal EV Affordability Program pays up to CA$5,000 on an eligible EV, but imported vehicles must have a final transaction value of CA$50,000 or less. Every Porsche EV and plug-in hybrid is built in Germany or Slovakia and priced well above that cap, so no Porsche qualifies.

Porsche warranty and Porsche Approved

CoverageWhat to expect
New vehicle warranty4 years or 80,000 km
Paint3 years
Corrosion perforation12 years
EV high-voltage battery8 years or 160,000 km on current Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan models
Porsche Approved111-plus-point inspection; coverage up to 6 years from first in-service date, or 2 years from purchase if the factory warranty has ended; unlimited km; no deductible; transferable; roadside assistance included

Porsche running costs are high, especially for tires and brakes on performance models, and options can add tens of thousands of dollars.

Buying a used Porsche in Canada

Consider Porsche Approved

Porsche Approved sales in Canada rose 4.7% in 2025 to 4,295. The program's unlimited-kilometre coverage and lack of a deductible make it worth considering on any used Porsche.

Check the options list

Two Porsches of the same model can differ by tens of thousands of dollars in options. Ask for the original build sheet and price used cars on their equipment, not just their model and year.

Run the VIN for recalls

Recent Canadian recalls include 3,211 2020 to 2024 Taycans for the high-voltage cabin heater and rear-camera software on recent Cayenne, 911, Taycan and Panamera models. Check any used Porsche against Transport Canada's recall database and confirm the work was done.

Used Taycans can be strong value

Electric luxury cars have generally lost value faster than gas models, which can make a used Taycan a lot of Porsche for the money. Check the battery warranty's remaining term.
