History/Overview
Since 2016, the CX-3 has served as Mazda's subcompact crossover model. Mazda added a manual transmission option in 2018, and in 2019 gave the CX-3 a mid-cycle refresh. For 2020, the Mazda CX-3 is unchanged.
Available Trims
Mazda offers the CX-3 in GX, GS, and GT trims. GX offers the most drivetrain variety, starting out with a six-speed manual transmission (6MT) and front-wheel drive. Optioning that configuration with a six-speed automatic (6AT) opens the door to adding AWD.
GS comes with the 6AT and front-drive, with the option of AWD. GT is standard with AWD.
Standard Features
GX comes dressed in 16-inch steel wheels with covers, tire pressure monitoring, auto-off headlights, a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, a six-speaker stereo with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth with text message function, keyless entry, push-button start, a tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel, power windows, air conditioning, trip computer, cloth upholstery, manual front seat adjustments, an electric parking brake, city-speed forward collision detection and automatic braking, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
GS adds 16-inch alloy wheels, full automatic headlights, heated side mirrors, automatic climate control, rain-sensing wipers, a rear centre armrest with cupholders, upgraded cloth upholstery, heated front seats, passenger seat height adjustment, a heated/leather-trimmed steering wheel, and soft-touch dash trim.
GT brings 18-inch wheels, a sunroof, LED headlights, fog lights and taillights, adaptive headlights with automatic high beams, a seven-speaker stereo with subwoofer, a head-up driver display, navigation, satellite radio, passive keyless entry, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather seating, a 10-way power driver's seat, and satin chrome and suede interior trim.
GT trim also gets Mazda's full suite of active safety and driver assist features, which comprises radar cruise, all-speed collision detection and automatic braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, distance recognition support, and traffic sign recognition.
Key Options
A GS Luxury package adds to that trim a sunroof, leatherette upholstery, satin chrome dash trim, and dark grey door inserts and dash panel.
Fuel Economy
Mazda's fuel consumption estimates are 8.8/7.0 L/100 km (city/highway) with FWD and the 6MT. FWD/6AT models are rated 8.3/6.9 L/100 km.
Figures for AWD/6AT variants are 8.6/7.4 L/100 km (city/highway).
