NEW FOR 2015:

-Redesigned model

GMC's full-size SUV, the Yukon, is all new for 2015, with updated styling that proves there's only so much vehicle designers can do with a truck shaped like a brick. To be fair, the new look is slick, but there's no denying the beast that the Yukon is.

Powertrain options include 5.3L and 6.2L V8 engines; the smaller is standard in all but the top-end Denali model, which gets the 6.2L. A six-speed automatic is paired with 5.3L trucks, and Denali models use an eight-speed auto.

Trim levels include SLE, SLT and Denali. An extended-length version called Yukon XL is covered in a separate buyer's guide entry.

Standard features include a 4.2-inch colour driver information display, eight-inch colour touchscreen, five USB ports, 110-volt power outlet, ambient lighting, tilt steering, sliding console cover, manual fold-flat second and third-row seats, cloth seats, 10-way power adjustable driver's seat and six-way power passenger seat (a front bench seat is available), Bluetooth, black assist steps, body-colour bumpers, fog lights, heated/power-adjustable/power-folding side mirrors with driver's side auto-dimming, front and rear park assist, black roof rack side rails, locking rear differential, 18-inch bright machined aluminum wheels, cargo management system, automatic tri-zone climate control, cruise control, IntelliLink infotainment system, 4G LTE hotspot capability, nine-speaker stereo, and satellite radio.

SLT models add intelligent keyless entry and pushbutton start, electric steering wheel adjustment, heated steering wheel, leather seating, 12-way adjustable heated and cooled front seats with four-way lumbar, safety alert seat, heated and power-release second-row bench seat, power-folding third row seat, power liftgate, side mirror-integrated turn signal repeaters, rear cross traffic alert, side blind zone alert, courtesy lighting with theatre dimming, lighted door handles, footwells and in-door storage, garage door opener, wireless charging. The SLT also comes standard with a convenience package of auto-dimming rearview mirror, power-adjustable pedals, power liftgate and garage door opener; this group is optional in the SLE.

Denali trim includes the 6.2L engine and eight-speed transmission, chrome-trimmed side steps and roof rails, handsfree power liftgate, Xenon headlights and 20-inch wheels.
