NEW FOR 2015:
- Standard OnStar with 4G LTE and in-car WiFi
- Siri Eyes Free
Chevrolet’s subcompact crossover carries over for model year 2015 effectively unchanged other than a minor update to its telematics and infotainment systems.
Since its time on sale, the Sonic-based utility has been launched in the U.S., and has a more traditional upright look compared to some of its rivals. The Trax's road manners reflect its European heritage, though it errs on the side of competence and comfort rather than driving thrills.
Inside, you’ll find a well laid out cabin that has its fair share of nifty touches, including a two-tone dashboard, dual gloveboxes and motorcycle-style instrument cluster. On Trax models equipped with the touchscreen infotainment system, there are a wide variety of downloadable apps including streaming internet radio and navigation; the system is enhanced this year with in-car WiFi hot spot and Siri Eyes Free. Space-wise, the Trax offers more interior room than the likes of the Nissan Juke, but it trails slightly larger value-priced models like the Hyundai Tuscon.
The Trax is available in LS, 1LT, 2LT, and LTZ trims, with front- or all-wheel drive, and can only be had with one engine - a 1.4L turbocharged four-cylinder engine developing 138 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque.
