Chevy fans, rejoice! There is now a full-size model from the bowtie brand that won't be automatically relegated to rental lots or corporate capital expenditures. The Impala is all new for 2014 and, in some ways, we prefer it to the Taurus and 300. It's now a car one can be proud to own instead of a purchase requiring justification. Available with two four-cylinder and one V6 engine, there's also lots of choice for motivation.
The Impala can be had with one of three engines: the base 2.5L DOHC four-cylinder engine, a mid-range 2.4L DOHC inline-four with eAssist mild hybrid system, or a full-bore 3.6L V6 engine. All engines are mated to one of two six-speed automatic transmissions. Trim levels are LS, LT, and LTZ.

LTZ trim adds forward collision alert, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, side blind zone alert, visible dual exhaust, remote starter, chrome door handles, LED daytime running lights, HID headlights, bright chrome window surround, park assist, backup camera, 19-inch aluminum wheels, keyless entry, push button start, cargo net, 8-way power passenger seat, heated front seats, and leather seating surfaces.
