CHANGES FOR 2014:
- Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel now available.
- Paint changes: Red Hot, Rainforest Green Metallic, Tungsten Metallic, and Blue Ray Metallic added.
Coming off a year with a number of updates, there is only one for 2014, but its a big lump of iron. For the first time in decades, Chevrolet is offering a diesel (specifically, a turbo diesel) in their volume compact. Not only does the Cruze Turbo Diesel offer more torque than all other Cruze models, it also produces the most horsepower. All of that goodness comes with a highway fuel economy rating of 4.2L/100km, better than the Golf TDI. It also comes with one other (unfortunate) feature versus the VW, a urea tank for diesel exhaust emissions.
In 1LS trim, features include 1.8L ECOTEC 4-cylinder engine, 6-speed manual transmission, OnStar, airbags (front, driver/front passenger knee, side curtain, front seat, rear outboard seat), theft-deterrent system, front disc/rear drum brakes, body colour door handles, power mirrors, chrome beltline mouldings, 16-inch steel wheels, floor mats, driver information centre, map lights, remote keyless entry, power locks, tilt/telescopic steering, power windows with express-down all windows, manual 6-way driver/front passenger seats, cloth seating, 60/40 split folding rear seat, and six-speaker AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio with auxiliary input and satellite radio.
2LS trim adds air conditioning.
1LT trim adds 1.4L turbocharged ECOTEC 4-cylinder engine, heated mirrors, air filtration system, manual electronic climate control, cruise control, and driver's window express up/down.
ECO trim adds 6-speed manual ECO transmission with triple overdrive, Aero package (lower front grille with air shutters, air dam, underbody aero panels and rear spoiler), rear spoiler, tire repair kit (tire sealant and inflator kit, replaces spare tire), low-rolling-resistance tires, and 17-inch lightweight aluminum wheels.
2LT trim adds (to 1LT) rear view camera, 16-inch aluminum wheels, leather wrapped steering wheel with Bluetooth, cruise and audio controls, leather wrapped shifter, heated front seats, power 6-way driver seat, leather seating, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity, and USB port.
2.0TD trim adds 2.0L turbo diesel four-cylinder engine, four-wheel disc brakes, six-speed automatic transmission, remote starter (automatic models), Aero package (lower front grille with air shutters, air dam, underbody aero panels and rear spoiler), rear spoiler, tire repair kit (replaces spare tire), and 17-inch aluminum wheels.
LTZ trim adds (to 2LT) four-wheel disc brakes, six-speed automatic transmission, remote starter, body-colour door handles with chrome strip, fog lights, 17-inch aluminum wheels, automatic electronic climate control, TPMS, upgraded instrument cluster, illuminated vanity mirrors, and nine-speaker Pioneer premium audio with 250-watt amplifier.
