The Audi S6 is a speedy sport sedan that adds V8 power to the brand’s entry-level mid-size model, the A6.
What’s New/Key Changes From Last Year
For 2021, the S6 is mostly carried over unchanged. However, it does gain a new 10.6-inch infotainment display and a new rearview mirror with an integrated toll transponder. In addition, lane departure warning moves from the option sheet to the list of standard features.
Available Trims
Audi offers the S6 in a single trim powered by a 2.9L turbocharged V6 engine matched with an electric motor for mild hybrid performance. The drivetrain consists of an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Standard Features
S6’s exterior comes dressed in 20-inch wheels with performance tires, auto start/stop, a sport exhaust, progressive steering, air suspension, adaptive wipers with integrated washers, power door closers, lighted door sills, passive keyless entry, power-folding/heated/auto-dimming side mirrors, LED matrix headlights with washers, LED taillights/dynamic turn signals, light animations, and a power trunk.
Inside, there are electric steering wheel adjustments, four-zone A/C, heated power front seats with four-way lumbar, heated rear seats, leatherette dash trim, Valcona leather upholstery, a rear sun shades, and a panoramic sunroof.
Tech features include navigation, a smartphone interface, touch-sensitive buttons, a sport virtual cockpit, an integrated garage door remote, a 10.6-inch infotainment screen, a Bang & Olufsen stereo, head-up display, and an integrated toll mirror.
Standard safety kit comprises 360-degree camera views, lane departure warning, loose wheel detection, tire pressure monitoring, front and rear parking sensors, city-speed forward collision warning with automatic braking, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, and exit assist.
Key Options
A sport package adds an upgraded rear differential, all-wheel steering, and red brake calipers.
A driver assistant pack brings traffic sign recognition, turn and congestion assists, active lane assist, predictive efficiency assist, emergency assist, and active cruise assist.
The individual contour seat bundle adds 14-way front seats with massage, passenger seat memory, a full leather interior, and a new Valcona/Milano leather combo.
There are also two 21-inch wheel packages, and a black optics pack.
Fuel Economy
Audi’s fuel consumption ratings for the S6 are 12.9/8.5 L/100 km (city/highway).
Competition
The Audi S6 competes with the BMW M550i, Mercedes-AMG’s E 53, and the Volvo S90 T8.
