The BMW M8 is a recent addition to the BMW lineup, taking the place of the 6 Series performance models, but offering a package that's slightly smaller and more luxurious. If you're looking for an ultra-fast four-seater coupe or coupe look-alike, this is where BMW will direct you.
The standard M8 version of the model is gone for 2021, and just the more powerful M8 Competition remains. The standard coupe is also skipping 2021, though it's back for 2022, leaving only the four-door sleek-body M8 Competition Gran Coupe.
The only trim option for the 2021 BMW M8 is the Competition Gran Coupe, sporting a 617 hp twin-turbo 4.4L V8, all-wheel drive, and an eight-speed automatic.
Power-adjustable nearly everything is included, along with heated front and rear seats, rear sunshades, M sports seats, and four-zone climate control. Soft closing doors, an automatic trunk, and proximity key entry are also part of the package. M performance bits include an M Sport differential, M Sport exhaust, and M driving modes. A head-up display, BMW Laserlight headlights, Driving Assistant with collision and lane departure warnings, self-parking with surround view, dashcam, BMW Live Cockpit Professional, wireless charging, and Harman/Kardon audio are all included.
A wide array of paint choices and leather options are available. An Executive Package with Driving Assistant Professional (Traffic Jam Assist, lane centering) and ventilated seats is available, or a BMW Individual Manufaktur pack comes with those features, Bowers and Wilkins audio, and the M Driver's package that includes a higher top speed and BMW performance driving experience
Official fuel economy estimates for the M8 Gran Coupe Competition are 16.0 L/100 km city, 11.0 highway.
