CHANGES FOR 2014:
- Paint changes: Kona Coffee replaces Urban Titanium.
A year after receiving a full refresh, Acura's CR-V-based entry-level utility gets only a single paint change for 2014. The RDX, with its athletic silhouette and less-obtuse styling, is equipped with a 3.5L V6 and six-speed slushbox. If you are looking for the signature SH-AWD Acura has been pushing the last few years, you'll have to look elsewhere; the RDX lost the setup last year in favour of Honda's more plebeian slip-and-grip system. For the trade-off, the RDX gets much better fuel economy versus its predecessor, becoming a more efficient offering for consumers. Smart move, Acura, even if we still pine for your Super Handling All Wheel Drive.
The base RDX features include all-wheel drive, hill start assist, 18-inch alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS, airbags (front, front side, side curtain), tire pressure monitoring system, body colour door handles and mirrors, heated folding mirrors with integrated turn indicators and expanded view driver's mirror, reverse gear tilt-down, fog lights, rear privacy glass, HID headlights, one-touch power moonroof with tilt, security system, auto-dimming rearview mirror, automatic headlights, compass, map lights, dual-zone automatic climate control, Bluetooth phone connectivity, tilt/telescopic steering wheel with mounted audio/phone/cruise controls, maintenance minder, HomeLink, 5-inch colour information display, rearview camera, power windows with driver and front passenger auto-up/down, keyless entry, push button start, SMS test message function, seven-speaker 360-watt premium audio system, USB port, Bluetooth audio, auxiliary input jack, easy fold-down 60/40 split rear seatback, 8-way power driver seat, 4-way power passenger seat, floor mats, fold-down rear seat centre armrest, heated front seats, leather seating, and leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Technology Package adds power liftgate, Acura Navigation System, GPS-linked solar-sensing dual-zone automatic climate control system, 8-inch LED backlit VGA display, and 10-speaker 410-watt premium audio system.
