2020 Acura ILX

History/Overview

The ILX is Acura's smallest model, a compact sedan that arrived in 2013 to effectively replace the CSX and TSX models. Acura refreshed the ILX in 2016 and again in 2019, the latter update bringing the brand's diamond pentagon grille design. There are no further changes for 2020.

Available Trims

Acura offers the ILX in base, Premium Premium A-Spec and Tech A-Spec trims. Common to all is a 2.4L four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with front-wheel drive.

Standard Features

All ILX models come with lane departure warning with lane keeping assist, forward collision warning with automatic braking, tire pressure monitoring, and adaptive cruise control.

Exterior features included at the base level are 17-inch alloy wheels and tires, passive keyless entry, LED headlights/brake lights/daytime running lights, and auto on/off headlights.

Inside, there's a 10-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, leatherette upholstery, leather-trimmed steering wheel and shifter, a sunroof, ambient lighting, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a six-speaker stereo.

Premium trim adds a four-way power front passenger seat, driver's seat memory, perforated leather upholstery, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert, a seven-speaker stereo with subwoofer, Apple Carplay and Android Auto,

Premium A-Spec adds 18-inch wheels and tires, ultrasuede upholstery with contrast stitching, metal pedals, A-Spec body kit and badges, LED fog lights, and darkened headlight housings.

Finally, Tech A-Spec's additions are navigation, an integrated garage door opener, rain-sensing wipers, a 10-speaker sound system, and AcuraLink services.

Fuel Economy

Acura's fuel consumption estimates are 9.9/7.0 L/100 km (city/highway).

Competition

Though interest in small luxury sedans is waning as the upscale crossover class picks up steam, the ILX still faces some notable competition. The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe is one, as are the Mercedes-Benz CLA and Audi A3. You might also cross-shop the ILX with the Subaru WRX, the Mazda3 GT, and the Volkswagen Jetta GLI.
