Cadillac’s midsize SRX crossover enters 2016 effectively unchanged, other than the discontinuation of Magestic Plum metallic paint, and minor adjustments in trim and equipment. The SRX is being discontinued; it will be replaced by the new 2017 XT5 crossover that will start production in the spring.
Though it’s getting long in the tooth, the SRX remains popular with buyers – it’s not just Cadillac’s top seller, it’s one of the bestselling vehicles in the segment. Standard equipment is quite generous, and there’s plenty of active safety technology to be had including available head-up display, full-speed adaptive cruise control with autonomous emergency braking, and a vibrating safety seat. While other 2016 Cadillacs receive a new grille, logo, and an updated CUE system, the SRX does not.
All SRXs are powered by a 3.6-litre V6 engine that produces 308 hp and 265 lb-ft of torque; all use a six-speed automatic transmission. The SRX is offered in base, Luxury, Performance, and Premium trims; the base and Luxury come standard with front-wheel drive; torque-vectoring all-wheel drive is optional on Luxury, and standard on Performance and Premium.
Prices start at $41,830 for the base SRX and top out at $59,055 for the top-of-the-line Premium AWD.
