Updated 2024 Buick Envision Gets New 30-inch Screen and Fresh Look

The 2024 Buick Envision gets the brand's new design language, a new screen that's largest in its class, and more standard safety features than the brand has ever offered before.

We've seen Buick's new front-end styling before on the Envista and Encore GX. The look comes from Buick's Wildcat concept car, and the thin lights and gaping grille are certainly a step up from the designs it replaced. New taillights continue the theme, and the rear bumper is tweaked to match.

Buick's new 30-inch screen dominates the cabin, stretching from the left side of the steering wheel past the centre point of the car. It puts the gauges and centre screen under a single panel of glass, and Buick says it offers drivers extensive customization options, including new information widgets.

The screen has shortcuts to frequently used features like the climate control and seat heaters. There are also on-screen buttons for automatic high beams and lane departure warnings, and, similar to other recent GM models, the headlight controls are in a menu on the screen. There are physical buttons for the most commonly used climate control features, though, and a physical volume knob for those who don't like using the screen or Google Assistant voice commands.

The new screen mandated a dashboard makeover, and Buick has added new trim meant to make it look more stylish and upscale. The front and rear seats have been updated with a similar result in mind.

Buick's list of standard safety assistants includes adaptive cruise control, intersection braking, front pedestrian braking, rear cross-traffic braking, HD surround view cameras, blind spot assist, and automatic high beams. A head-up display and Bose audio are also standard.

The only engine offered is a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder. It makes 228 hp and 259 lb-ft of torque, the same as last year, and has a nine-speed automatic transmission and an active twin-clutch all-wheel drive system. Adaptive damping for a more comfortable ride comes with the higher-spec Avenir trim. Buick's ST trim is added to the Envision for the first time this year and includes cosmetic details like a flat-bottom steering wheel.

The 2024 Buick Envision starts from $45,670 including freight and fees. The ST trim starts from $47,870, and the Avenir model is $53,770. That's a jump of around $3,000 for base models and slightly less for Avenir. Expect the new Envision at dealers this summer.
