Cadillac is preparing the Lyriq EV for its arrival at dealerships, which means the brand has released pricing and official range ratings for its first electric vehicle.
The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is an all-new electric crossover that will go up against established entries in the luxury EV crossover segment including the Tesla Model X, Jaguar I-Pace, and Audi e-tron.
First to arrive in Canada will be the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq RWD. With rear-wheel drive, the Lyriq's single motor offers 340 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to a 100-kWh battery pack, the Lyriq offers an estimated 502 km of range on a full battery charge.
The starting price for the RWD Lyriq will be $69,898, which includes delivery, making it priced quite competitively for the segment.
The Lyriq will offer Level 2 at-home charging rates of up to 19.2 kWh. That's the fastest L2 charging available, and close to double what most EVs offer on a 240-volt plug. It can add up to 83 km of range per hour, but that speed will likely require home wiring upgrades. On DC fast charging, the Lyriq will be capable of 190 kW, or around 122 km of range in 10 minutes.
Cadillac will start taking orders for the RWD model as well as the (estimated) 500 hp dual-motor AWD model on May 19. RWD deliveries are expected to start in the fall, with AWD vehicles arriving in early 2023. While Cadillac will take orders, it won't have pricing or an estimated range for AWD until closer to the start of production of the model. Expect those figures early next year or at the end of 2022.
