2005 Chevrolet Uplander

by MeloJello on 10-21-2012
looks way better than the old Chev Ventures...
This minivan does the job. Tons of cargo space, ideal for any camping trip or family outing. Took on of these on a road trip with the girls from Toronto to Montreal and we packed it full to the roof. Drives nice and smooth on the highway, there are compartments everywhere for little nick nacks...and very east to park. Make sure, you upgrade and get the minivan withe the rear air/heat. The one I was the base and it did not...so in the winter, passengers in the back fogged up the windows with frost and you cannot see a thing out the back windows.

2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Perfect country truck for city folk
I rented a moving truck and when I arrived at the rental company, all they had left was this Silverado. I honestly thought my moving plan were ruined but this truck did the job and then some.

we moved all my furniture in it, and my friends and I even took it for a cruise in downtown Toronto, blaring country music. This was a fun truck, it was the champagne beige color, interior was comfortable, the bed was easy to climb into. Stereo was nice and the truck was easy to drive and park. Heavy on gas but hey, what do you expect!

Great truck.

2008 Chevrolet Cobalt

Check out other alternatives before purchasing
Its a great car for just getting around, but with its cheap interior and lack of comfort and dated appearance, I would look into other vehicles in the same category. Fuel economy is standard for all cars in this class, one thing is you can feel every bump in the road. And the light interior doesn't hide any dirt at all.

Classic look for a car that once was...
The Acura Integra is a car that will always be remembered. I drove a black one, bought it used from Autotrader back in 2004. The thing drove forever..and was super comfortable. eventually is started burning some oil as they all do at 250K. I sold it on Autotrader to a your kid who wanted it for a pizza delivery car. So the love of the Integra lives on...

2010 Mazda Mazda3

Great bang for your buck!
Super fuel economic, Comfortable, 4 door is ideal. The exterior style is desirable and is known for Mazda. The front grill has a mouth looking smile....fun for some people, but not so appealing to others. Front bra reduces the "smile".

Nice Vehicle!
I worked for a rental company and we had these vehicles in our fleet. People loved them. The hatch was awesome! Feels nice on the road. Easy to park. Very Comfortable but the interior is not top quality.

2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara

by MeloJello on 10-19-2012
AWD hurts this SUV's fuel economy!
This Vehicle is AWD all the time...which really does a number on your pocket book. The style will never go out...handles very well and was very comfortable on long trips. Great entry level vehicle into a small SUV. Suzuki did a great job with the interior on this vehicle and the exterior style. Handles great in the winter, super reliable to get you where you need to be in rough weather

2004 smart fortwo

Fun for a city person
I drove this car for 2 weeks while my vehicle was being repaired. I got lots of stares, and some people pointed and laughed...but I had a blast in this car. I did have trouble going grocery shopping as there is no room to put anything. When you take the top down, the side rails fit into this little tray in the rear of the vehicle. This car is super niche and you have really be a smart car person to make the change. Fuel economy was awesome. Definitely get the top of the line for this Model. I drove the Passion and the little details made is all worth while. This vehicle also has interchangeable exterior panels where you can change the color of the car. Very fun!

Not worth your money
The interior of this car feels so cheap. Cargo space it really great with the hatch, but you do feel crammed in that vehicle. The stereo sounds cheap as well. I would look at alternate compact vehicle to invest in before buying.

Nice Family Vehicle
Great vehicle on long rides and you can fit quite a bit in the rear cargo area. The style for the interior is basic unless you upgrade and get the CXL which has the leather. Has a bigger than normal blind spot but you get used to working around that. The size of the vehicle works very well for any lady who feels SUV's are too big. This vehicle is a nice transition from a sedan.

Super fast car!
Bucket Seats were not made for short people. Definitely better fit for taller people. This car has a ton of power though. It was very fun to drive. Required premium gas so you know it will cost a lot to fill. If you modify this car, it will get tons of looks.

Classic style that will never go out
Great looking truck and can pull its weight and then some.

Cup holders are in the worst spot so it you are a coffee drinker it might annoy you. They are right near the shifter. The 4x4 has never failed, although the gas consumption is poor. The leather inside is soft and the seating is very comfortable for long rides.

The suspension is a bit soft, and the steering is a tad wollowy on the highway.

2003 Toyota Corolla

Very fun to drive
I rented a compact car in 2003 and because the car i booked wasn't available, they upgraded me to the Corolla S. I say upgrade because it was a manual and normally rental companies don't carry manuals (so the owner told me). That car was so fun to drive. All the benefits from the regular corolla plus it was manual. It handled so well, and was very peppy. The shifting mechanism was smooth enough and the clutch wasn't too sensitive. I would recommend this car to anyone.

1993 Honda Civic

Can never go wrong with a civic!
My first car ever. Bought it for $500. Had to replace the engine at 300,000KM. Dropped a new engine in for about $1000 and drove it for another 2 years. Definitely fuel economic, and it was the 2 door coupe so it had that early 90's great style that never faded. Finally sold it and upgraded to a vehicle with power windows, but I loved my Civic!

1999 Pontiac Aztek

by MeloJello on 10-18-2012
Definitely made to stand out!
The Aztek was one of a kind in its day. Drives well, and handles fine. No major problems. I was able to use it for moving some furniture items as the back gate opened up pretty wide and I was able to fit a ton of stuff inside. Was not a fan of the grey unpainted bumper, but that was the style back when they made them.

1995 Buick Skylark

by MeloJello on 10-18-2012
Comfy but ugly!
This was the car I used to get my license. It was one ugly car. But it was pretty comfy and would really move when you stepped on it. The Stereo was pretty good. Did have one problem where inside the dash there was some wires crossed that shorted out when you hit a bump, and would blow the fuse to the heater. Also the alternator went on it and had to get a rebuild one to replace it.

2001 Volkswagen Jetta

by MeloJello on 10-12-2012
Nothing fancy but it did the job!
Super comfortable wish plush bucket seats. The ride was nice and smooth. Very good on Fuel, you definitely get what you expect. The interior is dated and I think they always have been. Only gripe about the Jetta, The dash lights went (fairly common), and apparently you have to take the steering column apart to replace the lights. Big Job. I never did replace the lights.

2002 Ford Escape

Trim: XLT

Was a bad year for the Ford Escapes!
After much research, it became apparent that I was not the only on who had to replace the transmission. I loved the chassi, and the turning radius. Felt solid when I was driving it. The interior was leather, it was not quality but it didn't mark up easily which was great. The stereo sounded good for factory, and it always got me home in the snow with the 4x4. Unfortunately was very heavy on fuel.

Overall, for its time it was a decent truck. I would consider one of the New Escapes in the future.

2008 Hyundai Accent

Feels way more spacious than what you expect!
Bought the car, and thought I was really downgrading from my Ford Escape. I was prepared to be squished on long commutes in order to save a bit of money on fuel. I was so surprised after having the vehicle for some time that it feels very spacious, I believe because of the way they designed the dashboard.

I was so comfy in it that I actually made the treck from Ontario to Nova Scotia last year in it. Pretty good on fuel economy, but tough to get to 100 km/hr on uphill ramps. That's what you get for a small engine.

Overall, I love my car!.. Definitely splurge and get the model with Alloys.
