2006 Ford Mustang

Trim: GT coupe

Large thrills at a reasonable price, very reliable, good value
Bought new and still driven 3 seasons of the year. Very reliable so far (85k kms), re-tuned for 340hp and still get 34mpg on Hwy 401).

Car handles well, even better when you replace suspension with aftermarket lowering components as it does not come from the factory with enthusiasts in mind (too much body roll when thrown into the corners). Parts are cheap and a large selection of aftermarket manufacturers.

Excellent and informative Internet forum community of users and manufacturers. I'd buy another if something happens to this one.

1995 Ford Mustang

Trim: base v6

very reliable card
Bought new, sold in 2009 with 330000kms. Sold it because it was starting to require more maintenance. 3.8L V6 was known to warp heads, problem was fixed in 98 model.

Car was initially summer only, bought 4 Blizzaks and drove it in the Winter during it's final years.

Car was extremely reliable over the 15yrs and 330000kms. Would buy again for the right price/condition

2006 Ford Taurus

Trim: SEL sedan
by Kawarthas on 01-12-2013
Good value when maintained and bought cheap
Bought used in 09 and have put 100000kms on it since. Great highway car and great fuel economy (3L vulcan, 36mpg on Hwy 401). Liked my 03 Taurus wagon enough to buy the 06 sedan. Weak factory suspension and brakes (better aftermarket replacements), electrical problems fairly common. Gen4 Taurus are prone to rust at the back wheel wells and door sills, I've found undercoating inhibits this feature. Very roomy with a good ride, parts are plentiful and cheap, especially when you buy online. I'd buy another if the need arose, I believe in regular maintenance.

2003 Ford Taurus

Trim: SEL Wagon
by Kawarthas on 01-12-2013
good value if you find it at the right price
03 Wagon SEL with 3L Vulcan and Ax4n tranny. Bought used in 07 and have put 100000kms so far. Failed parts so far include starter, camshaft position synchronizer and idle air control valve. Wagon gets around 30mpg on Hwy 401, is comfortable and has LOTS of room. Car has some quirks requiring attention like lubing the door rubber and door latch before Winter, floaty factory suspension and trim pieces that warp in time causing water to leak.

Great car if you find it for a great price, invaluable owner community at www.taurusclub.com, well documented maintenance resource.
