Owned this car from 2001-2006
Loved this car.
PROS: Performance, Design (The Germans were ahead of the game on this one)
CONS: Fuel economy was terrible (thats what you get with a VR6). Car required a little more maintenance than one would expect (I.E Coil Packs)

Overall I would buy this car again. Fun to drive and the sound of a VR6 is something to brag about ;)

My wife bought this car brand new, we drove it for 7 years and 220,000km before trading it in. . We got a decent few years at the beginning, but eventually problems started.
PROS: It was a fun car to drive. The interior/exterior style was nice.
CONS: Fuel economy could have been better, many things started breaking after about the 5th year and the biggest issue was RUST!. A number of our friends with the same year/model all had rust issues. Beware.

It wasn't a bad car, but it wasn't a good car either. Do I regret buying it? NO. Would I buy it again? NO.

Used this car as a rental for a weekend, understandably the vehicle was likely a base model. The exterior styling is mediocre (however that is a matter of taste), the interior styling and detail was equivelent to a mid 90's vehicle. Performance was sluggish, in terms of comfort I kindof felt like I was driving a bus. Again, this car was a rental, depending on the trim you may have a different experience/opinion.

Owned this vehicle for 15 years... No problems until 180,000km. All at once the water pump stopped working, within a year the radiator stopped working, air box 'cracked', transmission blew, rust took over. It was a good car up until that point. I'm guessing there aren't too many of these still on the road today.

I acquired this car through my in-laws. I'm worried I will be driving my 2001 Toyota Camry forever. I really want to buy a new car but can't justify buying one. The fuel economy is great, the car has over 250,000KM and drives like new. My parents owned a 2000 Camry, same model. Their car now belongs to my sister, her car has 200,000km on it and also runs like new. Nothing but oil changes. The interior is simple, exterior doesn't turn heads but its acceptable. The handling is decent however it does give the 'full size sedan' feel (very soft/loose suspension). Overall a great car, even with higher mileage.
