Great Little 4x4
This is my second Chevy Tracker. First was a 1990. Had it for about 10 years and never had any problem aside from regular maintenance. My current 2004 has been nothing but great as well. The 2.5L V6 has enough get up and go for everyday driving and the 4x4 has never let me down. Decent fuel mileage for a V6 4x4 and great in the snow and ice. Has been nothing but reliable. Only maintenance has been regular stuff... fluids, brakes and exhaust. I wish they still made them today. Would buy another in a heartbeat.

MY Tracker
TONS of room & FULLY LOADED not bad performance for a 4 cylinder decent gas mileage compared to the 1992 Tracker I owned prior to this 4x4 system works great when called upon & actually like the interior design reclining front seats and TWO fold down rear seats lots of leg room and I'm just over 6 foot tall

2004 Chevrolet Tracker
I bought Tracker because I was looking for all wheel drive and enough room for my height (6'4"). Manitoba winters are long and this car handles snow/ice without problems, just switch it to 4WD. It's been very reliable, regular maintenance is all it needed.

Awesome for what it is
Very reliable, good in bad weather. 4x4 is excellent to have. It is a bit light but over all it handles well. I wish it had more HP but it is really a delite for city driving and gets very good mileage for its class!

Fun to drive! , Nimble, easy on the pocket book.
Bought this vehicle with 157,000 kms on it, and now has 223,000 kms, with no problems to report. I have put some Brakes in, and just finished putting New Struts in, all myself. We just have the basic Model with no A/C, no Power Windows ect. Good bang for the buck, and very reliable. Oh yeah, it likes the Snow covered roads as well!

2000 Chevrolet Tracker

2000 Chevrolet Tracker 4 x 4
My vehicle mainly goes to and from work, but has been on a few lenghthier road trips and through most types of terrain...5 or more months of this being winter driving in Sask. Comfort is great- have never had a sore back during long periods of sitting in the vehicle and the seat seems to mold to me just right. Performance leaves a little to be desired when passing, but for the most part suits the type of driving I do. Fuel economy is getting better with age @ 32 mpg. average... no complaints. Interior design is plain, but suits me fine. Dash is well laid out & the console has 2 cup holders and area behind them to hold a few misc. items. There is a large pocket behind each of the front seats which is great to hold numerous things...but which I use for my re-usable grocery bags. Back seats are a snap to fold down for using the area to transport larger cargo. Very much like the exterior styling; looks similar to a Toyota Rav4 and has been mistaken for that model on numerous occasions. The reliablility is fine with respect to breakdowns and problems...which have been virtually non-existant. But in the winter, we can talk about UN-relability. This vehicle is absolutely the worst in snow and ice. 4WD means literally nothing most of the winter. I have tried winter tires and I have had excellent quality all-seasons and it doesn't matter...I cannot easily get going from a stop and I fish-tail on acceleration more often than not. The back end is LIGHT on this car...and I say car because it really doesn't act like an SUV in this most important way...and I fill the rear of the vehicle with sand bags and salt every fall to get me through winter conditions. My Tracker has never failed to get me from point A to point B however, albeit with a little frustration from October to March. ;-)

1999 Chevrolet Tracker

by tpaul on 12-29-2012
nothing special
The chev tracker is nothing over the top. It is however a good and reliable car. I have the 1999 LXT sport with the 2.0L twin cam engine. The suzuki engine is virtually bulletproof. I have owned this car for over 10 years and have had no problems, only servicing the brakes and a few other small things. The 4x4 works amazing in the snow and ice, and is great for having some fun in the mud. Iove my little tracker

Nothing Special, but a solid car
The chev tracker is nothing over the top. It is however a good and reliable car. I have the 2003 LXT sport with the 1.6L twin cam engine. The suzuki engine is virtually bulletproof. I have owned this car for over 5 years and have had no problems, only servicing the brakes and a few other small things. The 4x4 works amazing in the snow and ice, and is great for having some fun in the mud.

Good Ride
Have had this car only 6 months and love it. Comfort level whether you are a passenger or driver isn't bad. Handles very good in all conditions on and off road. One downside is the space for back seat passengers. Great storage once back seats are down.

2003 Chevrolet Tracker

too small - no room
The title sums it up, my Tracker was ok a first, but I always found it a little small and didn’t have the power when trying to change lanes or pick up speed at a fast pace.
Nothing really fancy on the inside – but in the 8 years I owned the Tracker it never needed any major service.
I think this is a good starter suv because on the compact size.
