Chevrolet Malibu 1957-2017Change

I have had this car for 3 years, it had 60,000 kms on it when i got it and it now has 115,000. it runs amazing and is the luxury edition so everything inside is electric!

the vehicle is great to handle and has many surprisingly cool features like the remote start.The car has an amazing feel on the steering and is responsive with features like the and the ABS and the anti locking.The car has kerb appeal and good body language it has average fuel economy .The trunk space surprises even truck owners and is conveniently lit and secure with side nets for loose stuff.

This vehicle was under my parents name, but I found myself commuting with it daily. It's a very smooth ride and has exceptionally good fuel economy, for a v6. There's also plenty of space in the vehicle and trunk, which makes large shops a breeze for packing. Compared to competitor v6 vehicles, the Malibu doesn't quite match up in performance -- but it definitely has a lot more up and go than a v4.

About 2 months ago I got into a bad accident driving this car, going about 80km/hr I drove off the side of a ravine and the car flipped 180 degrees, both airbags went off and the car was totalled. However, me and my passenger were perfectly unharmed! The emergency crew that arrived on the scene said it was lucky we were alive after seeing the wreckage, and that said -- I'd say this vehicle is very safe!

Overall, I think I would purchase this model again if I were on a budget.

I'm not sure if I have a Monday car or not, but it would seem to me that the repairs on my vehicle just keep piling up. What makes me more annoyed is that my mechanic is always saying "oh, it's common for that car". My question back is what "isn't" common.

Maybe I was just spoiled with my no frills 5 speed manual 1999 Saturn SL1. That thing went on and on without too much fuss. Just the occasional yearly fix. However, with the 2006 Chevy Malibu LT, it seems to go on forever.

I must add that I bought this car 2nd hand, so I don't know the initial history. Also, it is pretty much loaded I think for the type of vehicle (i.e. from a gadget point of view). I think that is where my problems come from: too many gadgets. I seem to have to constantly get the bearings replaced, ball joints (stuff in the front end). My fuel gauge stopped working and the gauge is integrated with the pump; therefore, a $600+ part. Because the fuel gauge isn't working, the engine light is on and the auto start doesn't work when that is on. Doesn't really matter now because both keyfobs don't work anymore. The other day the trunk opened for no apparent reason and won't stay shut. The locks on the passenger door doesn't work anymore (well, the lock button, not the lock itself).

So, most of my problems are front end and electrical related. The engine and transmission are sound and work great. The car is comfortable and is much safer on the road than my Saturn was. I think my next vehicle will be a little lighter on the gadgets and probably more fuel efficient as well. My morning commute used to cost me $13 both directions with the Saturn, but now runs around $23 with the Chev Malibu. Something I was aware of when I bought the car, but never fully realized how much more it was goign to be.

It has been a very reliable car from day one. Starts great in the winter every time . thought the int design could have been a little better though. All in all very dependable and enjoyable car all round.

This car has been very reliable - no major service surprises. It has got us through commutes and road trips alike, in comfort. We have enjoyed it very much and don't look forward to getting rid of it.

fairly well, had problem with steering and module in tranny. Otherwise had good luck with car.Good in winter driving and good gas mileage on road trips.

I have had 3 malibus and found them all to be very comfortable, a pleasure to drive and easy to handle for highway driving.

have never had a problem with it. I got it second hand and there were 30,000 KM on it. It is a very reliable car. Has good milage. Love the indicator about when to change oit and fule milage left.

handles great in the winter. i fit two booster seats and one front facing car seat in the back seat. rides smooth. i love the cars reliability and have had no problems with it since we bought it. Always starts in the winter. We take the malibu on lenthy trips in the summer and dont even think about it. it definatly is a great family car and i would recomend it to all my friends. i would also buy another malibu without hesitation.

i had the car over a year and have no problems with it. it is not the nicest looking car on the lot but it is diffidently most reliable. winter great handle well in the snow. it feels good on the road you have good control around turns and short bends. great on gas i put 50 in the tank and after 5 days im still going loving that.

Given me a few problems, but it's good. Shakes sometimes. The traction control has been acting up and will sometimes just reduce the engine power. Good size for my needs.

This car feels far more spacious then when i first saw it. My son plays hockey and we were nervous about being able to carry his and maybe a friends gear to the arena. No problem, better then the Impala we had previously. My wife enjoys driving it to and from work, good gas mileage, comfortable, easy to park, little if any blind spots. She feels safe, enough said.

A very comfortable and reliable car. Have not had any trouble with it since we purchased it. She is good on fuel and runs smoothly. Don't even hear the engine. Fantastic space in the trunk and interior. I love the look - to me it is a stylish car.
There were a few minor problems. The aircon gave out and the passenger side window motor stopped working, but we did buy the car secondhand, so these were minor problems to be expected.
But I feel confident in putting my children in it. It feels safe. I would definately recommend this make and model car.

Its a dependable car which is good on gas with very little maintenance that ive had to do on it. first car i have ever owned and would buy a brand new one when this is retired.

I found that this car is very comfortable, but it's like it was made for old people. The design is everything but cool, and it broke once a year, for a thing or another. Personnally, if I had the choice, I would prefer a better car.

I find this car to be very fuel efficient but it is very small in the backseat area with hardly any foot room and little things always seem to need fixing. The signal lights continually need to be replaced , the coolant fluid and we also had to replace the steering component. Also the key fobs quit working and are to expensive to replace.

Reliable, comfortable vehicle. Smooth on the highway. Can be rear ended numerous times and the bumper survives.

if you have kids or even if you dont this vehicle is ideal for both, its safe, and reliable, the cost of gas, and mileage is ideal for working class famililies, and easily affordable. its very easy to drive, and has a very sleek look. large trunk space, leather interior(good for kids, easy to clean) heated seats, radio controles on stering wheel is easily accessable, the dash controles tells you when you need oil change, check air in tire, door ajar seat belt chimes when not buckled front or back seats

Besides a few issues with the Security system not allowing the car to start for 10 mins if the engine doesn't catch the first time, I've had a great experience with this car. It's a 2001 and i've got over 240,000 KM's on it and still going strong

i have had this car 5 years. no major problems.v6 engine is still running great at 270000 km. plenty of room for a family of four.

great reliable car. i would recommend it to anyone. i've taken on several long trips. there's lots of room for the family and great on gas. not a single repair needed to date with 79800 km on it. for a fraction of the price of an import, i'll take it anyday or an accord or camry
