Chevrolet Cobalt 2001-2012Change

I bought the car when it was 1 year old and have loved it ever since. I have never had any issues with it and enjoyed driving it. I now own a truck and miss the fuel economy of the cobalt.

great relaible car. great fuel milage. love the onstar better then navigartion easier talking to a live person. sunroof was awsome to have.

I once owed a chev cavilier and was hoping when I purchased the colbolt that I would just just as satisfied but I was wrong. I was more satisfied with the colbolt and would much rather drive it over the cavalier.The colbolt handles extrememly well and the fuel economy I can not complain about,I get plenty of mileage off a tank of gas.I have owned the car for almost 2 years and haven't had any major issues with the car besides normal wear and tear like brakes and tires etc.

My daughter bought this car brand new out of the showroom. She was so happy and proud. That didn't last long. She has has nothing but trouble with it. Had almost the whole front end replaced. Struts, shocks, ball joints, etc. I could go on but it makes me sick to think about it. Terrible car and I am glad they no longer make that model.

The Cobalt is an awesome car! I wouldnt trade it for anything! great on gas and very reliable. recomend it to anyone!

I Love this car, and hate to part with it, But its time for me to move on to my next project, Ive taken great care of it, Im a mechanic. I have never had any sort of breakdown, or major problems with it since I bought it 3 years ago.

This car is a respectable car if you're looking for an A->B machine with decent gas mileage and good reliability for the price. A high performance machine it is not and will never be, but at the price that you pay for it you will get reliability and gas mileage that is competitive with imports that cost 5-10k more.

The base model is missing an arm rest which does encourage you to drive with your hands on the wheel properly but also causes great discomfort on long drives.

The hidden compartment with the automatic trunk release feels cheap and will break easily.

The radio will routinely lock when you start the car and you have to restart the car to fix.

Car runs great handles likes a dream but some parts like the injectors break A LOT. It may be that i use mid grade but the manual says it can run on regular even, There is a peice of the exhaust that breaks often too, its a $150 repair every 6mths or so, the injector is more loke 300 every 6mths as well.

So far so good. No major issues. Not so great as far as the struts etc go. We drive our car a lot and only have to fill up the car about once a week. Not a fancy car but it will get you where you want to go.

I've had my Cobalt for 6years now and have 172,000 kms on it. So far I have no complaints,she gotten me everywhere I need to go and has not cost me much except for the regular stuff. I am pretty happy with her.

This is the best vehicle for a first car or as second family car. It is ok on gas in the city and good on the highway. I would have kept this car forever but I needed a truck and it had to go.
They are stylish cars that are inexpensive and very comfortable.

I have had no problems with the car since I purchased it. I runs great, and is amazing on gas. The car handles well in all weather conditions. It is also very comfortable to drive in for long periods of time.

Something is always braking on this car, the key fobs would cause the doors to rapidly lock and unlock when they were near the car, the fan control knob broke randomly. The headrest is angled too far forward and if it is at the proper height it forces you to sit with your neck forward.

Safety related issues include, headlights that do not illuminate a wide enough area (i.e. you can barely see deer in the ditches). You cannot turn TC off and the design of this traction control just cuts the revs (which is essentially like hard braking) so if you slip a little while you are driving in snow you are done.

Lastly, replacement parts are quite expensive, and the fuel economy is roughly the same as my 1989 cutlass calais.

I owned one of these for 3 years and I have to admit that besides being very reliable it was fun to drive. However for a car that is supposed to be fuel efficient it is underpowered, so if your in traffic don't expect the car to save you money...

I've had this car for over 2 years now and I still love it! The only repairs I've had to do have been routine maintenance except for the tire I had to replace due to hitting a nasty pothole on the highway. The fuel economy is not so great for in-city driving, but is fantastic on the highway. I'd definitely buy this car again.

Bought this car used with 70,000 KM I now have 140,000KM.
I have not had to spend more than $500 on it in mechanical repairs in the 3 yrs I have had it other than 4 tires. It is a great car for the money

This is my first car and could not be happier. Very happy with the mileage and the car overall. I bought it brand new so it was even better.

I drive the SS model and I love it. Very comfortable seating, smooth ride, good acceleration speed and handling, etc. At the time of review, I have absolutely no complaints about it. I was sort of worried about fuel consumption - SS supercharged - but I do not find it different than anything else I've driven. Good fuel economy considering the type of engine.

Literally the ONLY THING I WOULD CHANGE - and I can barely even mention this, it's so small/stupid - is the parking brake design. It fits directly under the right armrest, so that if the armrest is folded down, it covers the parking brake and must be pulled up in order to use the brake. Very stupid "complaint" though - it's really not a big deal and I barely notice.

Other than that, this car is pretty much perfect. Well priced, and feels like a more expensive car than it actually is. Good choice for anyone wanting something a bit more luxurious than they can actually afford!

The car is good on gas, has good speed and is comfortable.
The look of the car inside and out is modern and up to date. Seats are very comfortable. Has always started and is a reliable vehicle. Air and heat work amazing and fast can't complain on much on the vehicle.

WE have this car for about 6 years now and it is very reliable. It is also very good on the highway, also has very good fuel economy. interior is a nice grey, that comes clean very easy. CD player with am/fm radio power windows and locks.

i have had a few problems with the car when it was under warranty but it is a reliable car it has lots of room in it and i like tthe fact that it has 4 doors for lots of room and its has great open road mileage i would get another one

Had it for over a year while truck was being fixed and it has been a gem to drive Handles great and great on fuel

The car has a lot of trunk space, and you can fit comfortably 5 adults in the car. I wouldn't know the exact gas mileage, but I can travel in town for 2 weeks with a tank. Even if some older model were a bit more performant, it is a little better looking that the older version.

Had my Cobalt for over 4 years. It has never let me down. I'm sorry that I will not be able to get another one. Suppose I'll settle for a Cruze.

This has been a good car. Besides having to fix a few things. The check engine light came on first and there was a leak in the fuel hose connected to the tank. The fuel tank was replaced. Then started to notice a noise/clicking every time I turned the fan on and had to replace the motor for the fan in the front because a blade was broken on the motor. Next had to pay to replace the front right strut because it was leaking. Most recently water was leaking into car change drawer near drivers side and also dripping down to floor. The seals needed to be done again and hopefully I will not have anymore problems anytime soon. Good luck to other cobalt owners and hope the cars run with less issues.
